I like our draft in a weak draft.
Garland is more of a Murray(Denver), Lowery(Toronto) or Dragic(Miami) type PG while Sexton is more of a Fox(kings) or Conley(jazz) type. I think they can play off of each other. I don't think the Cavs want to start them together for the next 10 years but if they reach their potential they would fit into a nice 3 guard combo with a big SG. They are very different players for playing the same position. One is athletic, quick and gets buckets while the other is smooth, deep shooter, and nice pull up. It will be difficult for bigs with low intelligence to play with both on the court. When u pick and roll with these 2 what they want to do is complete opposite. After the pick with Garland the bigs need to slash towards the hole while the bigs with Sexton need to float away more. Sexton is going to take the ball to the hole while Garland will probably pull up. For Sexton to be a starting PG on a good team he has to improve in 3 areas--1. better defense, 2. better facilitator, 3. and continue to improve at the 3. I think he has the physical ability to improve considerably on all 3 but if he just improves a little he is a nice guard off the bench. If you don't think Sexton can guard anyone then Garland will be saying "hold my beer." I think both can be border line all stars just on the edge. Garland probably has the best chance to be an all star the way he shoots the ball and how the NBA loves that now.
Windler's potential is btw J. Harris and and Korver on the offensive side. Maybe a better rebounder. He played at such a low level in college his defense might take a year or 2 to even be below avg in NBA. He will struggle there for awhile. It took Harris 4 years to find his role in the NBA but part of that was the Cavs not giving him any playing time or any confidence in him. It will be interesting to see if Windler can play the 2 spot in the NBA or is he a straight 3.
I would say Porter best case scenario is a Smart(Boston) type player. Not a great shooter but born with a NBA body. Has some wiggle and explosion. If he can shoot consistently and put effort on the defense end he could be a NBA starter in a couple years. I like this guys potential.
