I think he's more likely to go in the top-10 at this point than in the second round. I'd be pretty happy to get him with the Rockets' pick and I think most around here would agree with that sentiment.
I believe so as well. I just seen a couple mock drafts with him rated second round.
I've never been a proponent of trading down in the NBA draft, but last year all I wanted (After it was apparent that we were going to miss out on the higher lotto guys) was to trade down so we could pick up a later lotto guy plus Mitchell Robinson.
I know Knox has been mostly bad this year, but I really liked what the Knicks did in the draft last year.
nbadraft.net is the one I know that's still super low on him, but they have a lot of wacky outliers in their mock so I'd take that with a grain of salt. ESPN, SI, Bleacher, and The Athletic all have him in the 17-23 range, and his stock's gotten a big boost since those mocks were published.
Question for some of you guys......in considering athletic calculation.....one that weighs both height/frame/athleticism in one number......what is your stance:
1. LeBron and Zion are the same.
2. LeBron is rated higher because he is taller and can be expected to play the same role.
Athletically, they seem the same but in a single number system (1-10), with .5 increments, weighing height/frame too......would they both get 10's? Or is LeBron the zenith at positional height + elite athleticism and Zion a 9.5?
Teams continually finding very valuable big men in later parts of the first round makes it very difficult for me to consider taking big men early all things being equal. That's what killed me about the Kings taking Bagley. Bagley is likely ending up being a good player and probably better than Giles, but they did the proper thing and took a late flier on Giles and hes absolutely playable. And even if he wasn't they are going to be having mid first round picks and later firsts to get dudes that can play. Now Zion is a different story. He's projecting elite on defense and has a solid chance of being close to elite on offense depending on how much his handles develop.I was completely wrong on him. Thought he didn't have the mindset and was a head case; He was just shy and had some anixety issues and got some bad advice.
He is amazing. An absolute menace on D and a ridiculous lob target on O with potential to extend his range.
Check out his advanced stats...ridiculous lol.

Speaking of Robinsons, VT's Justin Robinson appeared at #47 on Jackson Hoy's big board update the other day. He's the highest-ranked senior PG on his board, and my draft rater also has him tops among all senior PGs, but he's nonexistent on mainstream big boards as far as I know. Just one more guy I'd be thrilled to see on our summer league squad.
