I'd be floored if Langford goes top 5. I mentioned it before the season, but he's just not as good of a shooter as people think. As far as his mechanics go, they're not great. He has a two motion release with a ton of extra wrist motion - so I disagree that his numbers are going to be above average at the end of the season.
He can definitely slash to the hoop, that's his best strength. With that said, he isn't enough of a passer to be a primary creator imo when you add it to the fact that he's not the most adept shooter. Additionally, the most successful slashers in the NBA are quick and/or athletic. Langford is neither. He doesn't elevate in a crowd, and his style of play will just get more and more inefficient as he faces more athletic players.
He's generally a low-energy player for the most part, and I have doubts about him ever becoming a positive defender. Honestly I'd be pretty surprised if he's a top 5 pick. I still think he's a decent player though, just not worthy of top 5 to me at all.
I mentioned him earlier in the week, but everyone should find the time to watch Kevin Porter Jr. This draft is so wide open after the top 4 imo... if he maintains decent shooting and some quality decision making as his role at USC increases, then he's going to be knocking on the top 3 for me. I don't like ranking guys this early, but I'd probably have him right outside of the Duke trio along with Nassir Little.
