They have a good group to move forward with though. I could see him signing a 2+1 contract to give them a chance to roll this group back then see what they do when Gasol, Lowry, and Ibaka come off their books.

This. Klay is a superstar. Curry is really good but he only reaches superstar status when he's a front runner. He can't do it on his own. Klay is there every night while guarding the best player on the other team.
