You think he will?? The only thing I remember watching Bush play, was how he used to disappear or get injured in big games. Maybe he will be a huge stud...but I'm not sure it was a wise investment for an off the ball linebacker.
I'm not sure how much you watched of him if that is your 3 year assessment.
B1G DPOY, Consensus AA, tough as nails, great football IQ. He's a good college producer with elite athletic measureables. His best football is in front of him.
Last 2 years:
Florida - 5 solo, 3 ast, 3 TFL, 2 sacks
MSU - 4 solo, 4 ast
Wisconsin - 1 solo, 6 ast, .5 TFL, INT
OSU - 2 solo, 3 ast
Notre Dame - 3 solo, 3 ast, 1 TFL, 1 sack
Wisconsin - 1 solo, 3 ast, 1 TFL, 1 sack
MSU - 2 solo, 2 ast, 1 TFL, 1 sack
PSU - 4 solo, 3 ast
OSU - 3 solo, 3 ast
So that's the 9 biggest games they played the last 2 years.....he had 6.5 TFL, 5 sacks.....that is disappearing, for someone who played a lot inside as a college LB? What makes Bush really special, out of all the athletic college LB's I've seen is he is not only an elite closer but he has great read and react skills to pair with it. He can diagnose a play via keys and then close on the ball with explosion but remain under control, unlike most players. Typically LB's have one or the other (FBIQ or Elite Athleticism)....it's rare to find LB's who have both.
Average combine weight for LB's was 236 this year. The NFL is trending to smaller, quicker players and I think it makes sense, given how teams attack on offense. You just have to sacrifice some size to get faster.
I hate Pittsburgh but they have a really good track record of developing LB's. If they like Bush that much, it would be surprising if he isn't very good in their system.
