2019 Potential Free Agency Targets

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
John Brown was dynamic with Flacco but Lamar Jackson can't get him the ball down the field. Keep an eye on him tomorrow. Baker would be a much better fit for his skillset.

Brown was dynamic with Flacco for about four weeks, but after that he's been the invisible man aside from week seven. My guess is that he'd been irrelevant for so long that teams didn't bother game-planning against him the first couple of weeks. Once they did, he was a non-factor.

Bring Perriman back. Draft someone and roll with it. Or you know, trade for OBJ

Am I crazy in thinking linebacker is a much bigger need than WR?
My initial reaction to some of the prior posts was "where in the hell is the urgency around the linebacker position?"
  • Collins is a surefire cut. He was on the bubble this training camp and after a pretty horrendous 2018, he's a goner.
  • Kirksey is solid but not elite at any one thing.
  • Schobert is also solid but regressed and has very clear limitations... We need to acknowledge that he missed a lot of tackles this year.
  • Avery showed promise but still a ways to go.
We don't have a single linebacker capable of rushing the passer; no "animal" that teams fear, so to speak. We need a force to be reckoned with back there. To me, that's the weakest facet of our defense and priority number one.

Honestly my whole focus on free agency in the draft is the DL and LB give me a Grady Jarret, type DT, from Atlanta, and then a young Rotational DL, see how much KC and Seattle love there DE both are studs, Cut Collins ass, bring in two young fast moving LB through FA, and hope and I might have to use some draft Equity and move up and Draft, Devin White from LSU, that guy is going to be a stud, Obvious I want a CB and resign our key free agents, etc etc.....But I really want to fix our Front Seven...

I know he's older now and not quite the same animal he used to be, but isn't Clay Matthews a UFA? Cut Collins or trade him and see if Jr would be interested in finishing out his career for an upstart trending upwards team that would be something amazing to see the son of a Browns legend in our Jerseys again. I think if reinvigorated, he's got about 3 high impact years left in the tank.......if utilized properly. Situationally as a pass rusher, not talking about 70 snaps a game, maybe 40 snaps a game

Clay Mathews Jr is my favorite Browns player of all time, and as much as I would love to see Clay III in a Browns uniform, I really don't see the point.

Really don’t want to use draft capital to trade for OBJ. WR is not a weakness on this team. Use our first 3 picks on DL, LB and CB. Maybe use 1 of the 3rd round picks for a WR.

Maybe, or use the other 3rd rd pick on a OT (R or L)

Biggest reason, if we want a veteran to ship out Collins and help guide our pass rushers? His lineage and career so far would make for an awesome layer to our coming out party. Of course, if he's up for it and not looking for 12 million a year. Just think it would be really awesome if the right situation came into focus for him to come here.

I get the thought, but I don't think he has 3 years left in the tank at 33 years old, but his dad did play for 19 years and his Uncle for 18 I believe, so its in the blood.

I remember reading during the season that Clay III was a lock to sign here in FA and most of that was coming from his family. The GB FO being here now might seal the deal. I also think he still has a few years left.

I think he needs reinvigorated, change of scenery. If he was to come here, mainly used as a pass rusher, I'd wager he'd be close to 10 sacks and feel younger with Garrett and our young line.

Where did you read this? Not calling you out, I just totally missed it. Interested.
