I thought this was a really well done mock draft. Seems like people picked from the gut, were logical, and did some decent research. You can't really ask for more fun as an NFL draft nerd. Thanks for all the participation this year.
I'm not gonna shit on anybody's draft, but I would like to dish out some positivity. There were a few drafts that really stood out to me.
Draft Winners:
1)New England Patriots- Trading for Delanie Walker, and then drafting Caleb Wilson was really the answer New England needed with Gronk retiring. They also nailed every pick IMO. Willis, Whiteside, and Little were all good value picks. And I think Polite will prove to be good value as well.
2)New York Giants- I might look stupid down the road for this praise. This was a massively important draft for NY, but I liked all of their decisions. People are down on Haskins, but I'm not. I think he has a ton of potential, and I also think AJ Brown was the best receiver in this draft, which the Giants need. Furthermore, Ya-Sin, Evans, Lamar, and Moreland were all near the top of my board when they got picked. A fine, fine draft IMO.
3)Arizona Cardinals- Again, going out on a limb here. I think Murray will be good, but if he's not, there was still a lot to like about Arizona's draft. Harry, Winovich, and Love were all good values, and should help out whichever team actually drafts them. Also, I think they nailed the Rosen trade, so there's that.
4)Miami- Sweat at 13 was a steal, as was Tranquil whenever they got him. Less sure about the rest, but seemed like good picks at the time. Getting Fuller in that trade was nice for them as well.
5)Washington- Am i the only other person who thought trading for AJ Green was smart? Also, they got a potential franchise quarterback in the 4th. Long, Saunders, and Cashman all in the 3rd. Addressed the o-line. I was thoroughly impressed with Washington's draft.
Honorable mentions:
Detroit- I liked the Stafford trade for them. I also like Greedy Williams at 19. Metcalf and Harmon should be a nice WR tandem for them for a long time. They can figure out QB next year. Meanwhile, Mariota has a year to play for his NFL life, maybe he responds well.
Green Bay- I liked the Collier and Warring picks. Not sold on Butler one bit, but he couldn't have gone to a better place. Don't feel like betting against any picks made by someone who probably did the most research. Or at least has the most convincing conjecture.
San Francisco- When you draft the best player (non-QB) in the draft, you're a winner. Bosa will be a beast, and I'm sure Keys did his homework.
Cleveland- Loved the Gardner-Johnson pick, not sure about the rest. I would have done it way differently, but I thought you did well with the Poop Dick trade, even if you could have done better. Getting back Ito was neato.
Sorry to leave anybody out..
