I posted it shortly before the season, but the Indians, Red Sox, and Dodgers have each made the playoffs the past 3 seasons. If I am remembering correctly, at least 7 opening day players from each team were not on the Divisional Series 25 man roster.

The strikeouts and the walks are always what I look at when guys are struggling early in the season.

His walk rate is down significantly from last year's career high, but his K% is still right in line with his career numbers.

If he continues to just plug away, and put the ball in play, it seems inevitable that he'll start barrelling the ball up.

EDIT: This is also something Bauers has going for him at the moment, although we do have a bunch of guys with very concerning swing and miss numbers.

And here's the thing, where the Indians need help is some of the easiest for a team to trade.

The Indians can trade for a big bat who cannot field because their DH stinks. Unlikely last year, they don't already have Edwin and Yonder. Hell, Santana has been far better than both of those guys this year and we still have room for a DH. Bullpen help at the deadline is usually fairly cheap too.

The Indians need to figure out how to get a plus bat in one of their OF spots, but at the moment? The lineup is only missing Lindor's and Jose's production. Anything more would be gravy.
