2021 NFL Draft: Day 2 (Rounds 2 & 3)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
this draft is too good to be true , I have to keep pinching myself to make sure I aint asleep.
Schwartz needs some work to be more than a gadget play guy and returner but holy shit
he can burn out and the decoy ability is insane

Keep in mind, we don't have alot of immediate holes. You can afford to take projects here. That speed is unreachable, according to Breer there was a good chance he would be in Tokyo this summer if he focused on track. Natural speed and excellent technique will be fantastic on deep routes and returns. Something we haven't had. This will open up the entire middle of the field for our guys when he's on the field.

Wasn't expecting the Browns to go WR before iDL or EDGE but they did need speed:

Interesting enough his other athletic profiles were middle of the road which tends to indicate he may be more straight line speed than quick/COD...

Damn, Ben Cleveland is a good pick.

would have just preferred Perkins at that point

To make this pick worthwhile, Schwartz has to get to work on the route tree.

He’s far more raw than a Tylan Wallace or Amon-Ra St. Brown (granted, that’s not everything), but pairing him in an organization that is led by Jarvis and OBJ at his position?

I’ll respect the chance to put him in the system, let him learn from those guys and Stefanski’s ability to mix him in.

Does he?

He's going to run jet sweeps, posts and streaks. The Browns desperately needed that threat. And Baker is deadly accurate down the field.

Will he catch more passes or take more handoffs in 2021?

Here's what I wrote about Schwartz when I picked him in the RCF Mock Draft at the end of the 3rd:

Some people are higher on Tutu Atwell as a speed receiver, but I like the larger frame on Schwartz to develop into more than a gadget player. His drawbacks are clear - he doesn't track the ball consistently and commits drops from time to time. I still think he has yet to reach his ceiling.

Fun fact: He ran the fastest official recorded American youth 100 meter dash while in high school.

Thats very true, his floor as a role player right now could be integral to keeping defenses honest.

Anyone think we'd see 9 in the box with this guy on the field? Should open things up a bit.

Yeah, I think as a fit this year, he's the missing piece to the WR core. I think they wanted either a Rondale Moore or Dyami Brown in a perfect world. When they couldn't just take a guy they can use, even if his ceiling isn't huge.
