You know to ignore the first week or two as results are always bizarre. I remember the first time LBJ left we were a game or 2 over .500 and the nuts were really believing we were still a playoff team. Eventually reality set in and we won a handful of games the rest of the way. Some guys still are not in shape and some veteran teams just don't care until January.
yep. Its way too soon to tell much. Sometimes teams just get old and start cracking. Sometimes they are just pacing themselves and know they have what it takes to peak at the right time. Sometimes there are chemistry issues that will fix themselves over time. Sometimes they are unfixable. There are a few teams that will bomb early and few that will put together a great record that sets them up for the rest of the season, but for most teams, the true test of what they will be doesn't really start until after the New Year. We have numerous new people in new places, as long as we are within striking distance and haven't lost major contributors for the rest of the season to injury, I'm not going to get too excited one way or the other until 2023.

But that doesn't mean I won't lose my shit and have stupid hot takes on a game to game basis before that.

What’s crazy the 2 flagrant that weren’t call was a big factor and on top of all the bulkshit calls that were called and we was still in stricking distance. I hope we punch the bulls right in the mouth

From The Athletic:

Maybe it’s unfair considering the Lakers opened the season on the road playing the defending champion Warriors. But in the 123-109 loss, the Lakers looked every bit as bad as they did last season, which was a disaster. Not exactly a fresh beginning.

LeBron James scored 31 and Anthony Davis added 27, but the rest of the Lake Show was pretty dismal. They might be 0-1, but it already feels like they don’t have a chance to compete with the current roster. James basically said as much after the game: "We're not a team constructed of great shooting." This is Game 1! Brutal.

Call it bad vibes or poor construction. Whatever. They never felt in the game last night, even against an emotionally fried team like the Warriors.

Only a matter of time before the Cavs call them about the availability of a certain small forward that would fit in nicely with this group.

I dont think trading for Juan Tuscano-andersen should be too expensive!

Lebron has no interest in winning. He just wants to pass Kareem and live in LA. Also he can’t be traded this year because of the extension so it’s not even worth thinking about.

The Lakers weren't willing to trade their '27 & '29 1st Rounders for help, so they probably won't trade the Cavs those picks as compensation for taking on an elderly player with a catastrophic cap-killing contract.

The Lakers would have to throw in more.

LeBron's hair transplant surgeon is amazing.

Cavs have an app to watch the games on your phone?

Yep.
31, 14 and 8.
He's gonna be in the old folks home soon.
We trade Love and LeVert for LeBron. The salaries match - we even pick up about $4 million.

It would be dependent on LeBron asking the Lakers to trade him to Cleveland, of course. He would have to be willing to trade living in L.A. for the next seven months in exchange for playing for an NBA Champion instead of a 10th place team.

Both Love and LeVert are unrestricted free agents after this season so the Lakers would have a blank slate to start over. Anthony Davis is the only player they would have under contract for next season except for a couple of guys at the bottom of the roster.

LeBron would make $50 million with the Cavs and win another title next year. With the contracts of Love, LeVert, and Windler off the books next year that would free up $53 million to cover LeBron's contract.

The 9-man rotation this year and next:

C Allen, Mobley
PF Mobley, Wade
SF LeBron, Okoro, Cedi
SG Mitchell, Rubio
PG Garland, Rubio

Back-to-back NBA titles. Book it. Unless LeBron would rather spend this year scoring 30 points a game for a team that can't win.

Isn't LeBron ineligible to be traded this season since he just signed an extension?
