Wow at Quentin Holmes released. Guess it shouldn’t be surprising but he was our top overall pick that year. Jeeeeeez

They went toolsy and potential over floor with that pick... Reason why the farm has gotten so much better is because they no longer draft guys like him early. Holmes was a top 50 ranked player on everyones board. That draft outside of Holmes though may end up being pretty solid. Freeman, Johnathan Rodriguez, Clement, McCarty, Morgan,Karinchak and Nelson...

HEADS UP!!!
There is something interesting to follow with the AA Akron game in Erie tonight.
They are entering the top of the 6th (Akron coming to bat).

It is also the FREE game to watch today - No hitter still alive!

But they pulled him after 76 pitches ... I was hoping for 1 more ... changed my focus after that home plate call.

Well they lose the no hitter in epic fashion - Aaron Pinto gives up a stand up inside the park homerun... Would have been an excellent defensive play, but Roller and freshly promoted JRod collide at the wall. Everyone seems OK.

I dont get over excited by prospects, but Williams might be the best option we have right now as our sixth starter.

That obviously isn't gonna happen for a variety of good reasons.

But of all our young pitchers, Williams might give us the chance to win a game.

Well a rough start to the week for the CLE full season affiliates as the group goes 1-3 with a -6 run diff.
Now onto the Wednesday games and hopefully a return to the normal winning ways of the group.

Think there is a slight chance Williams gets shut down for the season after a couple more starts.

We’ll see, but it’s been discussed.

How many innings do you think Williams will get this season and how many do you think they will plan for 23? I feel like this kind of holds him back for the bigs until 24...

Every single prospect you want to hold back. OGOATz would be down in Lake County if it was up to you. Williams and Bibee will definitely make their MLB debuts next year, barring injury. And they should. 2024? Why? Very frustrating.

I couldn't help but notice checking the box scores that Jung Junior the 2022 1st Round has appeared in 9 games now in High A. Don't care about the level this year but when will we finally see DeGOATer and others from the 2022 HAUL?

Doesn’t hold him back at all.

He’s pretty much a lock to start in AAA next year. Not much left to prove against AA hitters.

It’s protecting a guy who didn’t throw a professional inning last season. Think they’ll cap him anywhere from 110-120 IP.

the general guideline is no more than 50 % above his previous season.. In Williams situation.. there was no season.. His highest output until then was 81 IP at East Carolina... So the range you've suggested fits the guideline..

It's also contingent on the health of the individual.. that's why it's a guideline.. not a rule..

Unlike, say Bieber, Williams did not carry a big load in college.

He pitched 81.1 innings his senior year, after only 3 innings the year before. He's at 91.1 innings right now. Two more starts would put him over 100. Thats more than enough.

125-130 next year. He isnt R5 eligible until after the 2024 season, so there is no rush...nor should there be. By 2024, if he stays healthy...always a big if...he would be ready for a full MLB load in 2024.

We only get six years of control. Why start it until he is ready for a full load?
