Ideally, my hope is that the front office planned on moving forward without Baker this offseason and took a big chance to try to improve before moving on to their eventual plan anyway. This is a win win for us. We don't give up all those assets for a guy who might be suspended half the season and in all honesty should spend some time in jail. We also get to move on from our soft ass middling QB who was never going to take us anywhere.
LFG!
I’d rather just tank this season with Mullens than start a Winston or Mariota type and win those extra 2 games that we don’t need to win to KO us out of a difference maker at QB.
After coming from the anointed Steelers, our owner still does not know his place in the league so we pull stunts like this. FAs use us for paychecks and go to sleep while agents use us to increase competition elsewhere. Nothing ever changes. I don't care if the Browns offer was "accepted." We were just 25% or 33% more leverage. We are always the C student trying to get into Google. The most humiliating part is he hasn’t even chosen a team. Just is not choosing the Browns.
Enjoy 500, I’m aiming for 700. I don’t care what sour tastes it leaves. The roster is too good 2-53 to straight up tank a season.
They won 8 times last year with bottom 5 QB play. I'm hard pressed to see a scenario where they get worse QB play than they got this past year.
I honestly didn’t feel comfortable w him anyways. But this does feel like it could be the beginning of the slide back to 5-12 seasons
