This is a win win for us. We don't give up all those assets for a guy who might be suspended half the season and in all honesty should spend some time in jail. We also get to move on from our soft ass middling QB who was never going to take us anywhere.

LFG!

People can claim it's about living in the south, lifestyle, etc. I really think it's about the fact that the NFC provides a much easier path for postseason success, as things stand now.

Regardless, I didn't want this pervert on the Browns and I'm happy that he won't be coming here.

Ideally, my hope is that the front office planned on moving forward without Baker this offseason and took a big chance to try to improve before moving on to their eventual plan anyway.

I’d rather just tank this season with Mullens than start a Winston or Mariota type and win those extra 2 games that we don’t need to win to KO us out of a difference maker at QB.

The roster is too good 2-53 to straight up tank a season.

They won 8 times last year with bottom 5 QB play. I'm hard pressed to see a scenario where they get worse QB play than they got this past year.

The most humiliating part is he hasn’t even chosen a team. Just is not choosing the Browns.
After coming from the anointed Steelers, our owner still does not know his place in the league so we pull stunts like this. FAs use us for paychecks and go to sleep while agents use us to increase competition elsewhere. Nothing ever changes. I don't care if the Browns offer was "accepted." We were just 25% or 33% more leverage. We are always the C student trying to get into Google.

I'm not a Mayfield fan anymore, but he was homegrown, had spotty success, and seemingly wanted to play in CLE. It's hard to find that combination but our FO has some unearned arrogance right now.

To all the Twitterati who said we should have drafted Watson, we'd just be the team trying to unload him instead of Houston. We know this and we also know the league would have come down harder on us than any other team if he were ever reinstated. The real mistake was Josh Allen. Even-keeled, California boys like Allen who want to play in cold are hard to find.

I feel we're not going to be able to upgrade now. If we ready to unload all this draft capital for Watson, it's time to do it in the draft instead. The window is closed on this roster IMO.

See you Week 1 anyway

Yeah, this team is too good to tank.

You'll just have to swing a big trade for one of the top QB's in next years draft. It can be done. It should be done.

Enjoy 500, I’m aiming for 700. I don’t care what sour tastes it leaves.

You can disagree and that’s fine but I’m not feeling a bridge that puts the Browns at 7-10 for the illusion of contention instead of 4-13 and a legit shot at a nice QB class next year.

I honestly didn’t feel comfortable w him anyways. But this does feel like it could be the beginning of the slide back to 5-12 seasons

I hope not, like others have said, our roster is too good and we have 4 more picks this year that can really add talent. We were a couple wins away from wining the division with horrible QB play. Just get average and we'll be right there!
