2023-23 Season | Game #82 | Hornets @ Cavs | April 14, 2024 | 1:00 p.m.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
That first one is a beauty. Our game ended before three. Knicks game went until 3:45 and they won by one point in overtime. How was anyone supposed to know at 2:30 that the Knicks would win at 3:45?

Rest assured that if the Cavaliers had won, Knicks lost and we found ourselves playing the Sixers next week we’d have “Major Questions” for the franchise asking why we didn’t dodge the Sixers when the Bucks and Knicks did.

The franchise will have major questions to answer if we lose to Orlando. If we had the second seed and lost to Philly or Miami there would be “major question” to answer. If we had won, Knicks won and played Indiana and lost there would be “major questions“ to answer.

Would be absolutely hilarious if we beat Orlando and then Boston. Then the reporter would have “major questions” to answer.
THIS THIS THIS

People talking about who the Cavs might play in the second round should they advance are overlooking the fact the Cavs didn't sniff the second round due to their first round matchup last year..

The players.

You think Jarrett Allen is heartbroken he won’t face Embiid?

The players know better than anyone else which teams are better, and they know Philly is a far tougher matchup than Orlando.

But I might be wrong. We might hear reports of the players being very upset that the team didn’t win today’s game.

I'd rather progress as far in the playoffs as possible, and that means home court for as long as you can keep it. Preferring to face Boston on the road in the second round seems to be settling for the idea that we win one series then get bounced.
We had home court last year n got bounced in the first round, Sixers in my humble opinion will give us as much trouble as Boston….

We’ve advanced to the second round TWICE in franchise history without LeBron. Once was the freaky “Miracle at Richfield” year where we beat defending EC Champion Bullets and the other was with Daugherty - Nance - Price. It’s not easy.

I remember hearing Tristerone say seeding does not matter, health does, etc. TT is one of the leaders in that locker room. I could be wrong, but maybe this summer we will hear about how it all fell apart because we choose not to win game 82 at home as the organization crumbles into the dungeons of the league...

At the time it looks like they were destined for Philly. Also Orlando doesn't take many 3s.

Orlando was 14/25 and shot 56% from 3 the last time Cavs played them. All the Cavs' best defenders played: JA, Mobley, Okoro, Wade, LeVert, and CPJ.

I see both sides of the tanking/seeding debate. But at the end of the day, I don’t think that the Cavs were actively changing their strategy during the game (much less the 4th quarter), so this is just how the standings worked out. And with what happened to CPJ, I’m comfortable with the Cavs’ conservative approach going in. We’ll have to hope for the best!

1pm games are difficult to watch especially on a Sunday. Why did CPJ only play 10minutes? Did he get hurt?

This is pretty much what Bickerstaff confirmed postgame..

Feel bad for the fans that spent their hard earned money to see a win. They deserve refunds.
If fans went to the last game of the regular season not expecting us to rest guys then I don't know what to tell them. It's fan appreciation day the last game of the season for a reason: to bring the fans in and keep them entertained for a game which every year is largely meaningless.
