2023-24 Playoff Series #1 | Game #7 | Magic @ Cavs | May 5, 2024

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
magic are tough. They should be back stronger next year. Leap frogging others like bucks, maybe Philly

What the cavs can exploit against the celtics:
1. Donovan is the best player in this series. While Tatum is the bigger name, a healthy Mitchell will run circles on this team.
2. Okoro is not that undersized against Tatum and Brown compared to Banchero
3. No physical defenders to deal with. TT can handle Horford.
4. Cavs hopefully will play looser and with no expectations.
5. Cavs can play small and not give up a ton of size advantage.
6. Hoping Niang finds his shot. He can come and match up with Luke Kornet and not be a liability on defense.

I am hoping this series goes to 7. Cavs should play a more physical brand of basketball. But cavs can get swept. I am afraid of Derrick White, he has been on fire lately.
To add to this:
1) Celtics run 8 deep in competitive games. Minus both Jays; they lean on Horford, Hauser, Kornet (since KP is down), Pritchard, White & Holiday. Is that 6 much better than the surrounding pieces in Orlando? I don't think so minus the fact they are smart and knock down shots. No one is going to blow you away.
2) our supporting cast can all play against the 6 mentioned above. No one can get taken off the floor so long as they're making shots.
3) Jay's take more 3s and contested shots than Franz & Paolo. That means less opportunities for FTs.
4) They have no answer for our bigs. If they go small, Mobley will eat and frustrate Tatum.
5) DG will have a significant speed advantage this round. He just needs to finish. He does well against Holiday.
6) Joe Mazzulla ain't no Brad Stevens or Ime Udoka.

If we run, box out and make our shots... we're gonna be a tough out for Boston.
