2023-24 Regular Season Thread II: March Toward Destiny

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Mobley isn’t worth the max and okoro isn’t worth 18 million. Hopefully the Cavs don’t over pay

Mobley will be paid the max available. It's all about long term projection with Evan. Okoro will get 15-20 million. Key is what we can get from Mitchell can fit between Garland and Okoro. Likely a 3/C guy.

Why are qw trading mitchell for a

The Mitchell/Garland pairing has worked and does work when looking at the stats and metrics.

Allen Mobley is a bit less dynamic, but my fear is giving up on Mobley too early. Look at how Okoro's shooting improved this year and still will improve as he is still so young. If Mobley has a year 4 jump like Okoro and starts taking 3 or 4 shots a game and hitting around 38%, it opens things up. Defensively, Mobley and Allen do work.

My other idea would be seeing if Mobley's ego could handle going to the bench, It really makes the touches easier and both can still play around 30 mins a game if one starts, one on the bench and play together 8 mins a half or so.
Meh. In order for Mobley to go to the bench Mobley, JBB, and Koby would all have to agree. I think Mobley's the most likely one to go for it.

It makes no difference if he starts or comes off the bench. He and Allen will play together a certain amount of time and alternate a certain amount of time. They both will get 30-36 minutes a game.

Mobley's defense combined with Allen's makes this team truly difficult for opponents. With Garland, Mitchell, and Strus shooting 3s, plus our bench hitting 3s, we're hard to beat.

It looks like we may be back to a full roster by the Philly game and almost certainly for the west coast road trip. We have 10 games left. Unfortunately, many of the teams we will be playing on the road trip will be playing for the playoff lives. The Nuggets are playing well, but still have the Thunder and Wolves at their heels. The Suns, Lakers & Clips are all fighting for every win at this point. All those games will be very tough. The good news is the Jazz are tanking and we close with the Grizz, Pacers, & Hornets at home. If we can win the next 2 and split the next 8 to finish at 50-32 and would require the Magic to close 10-3 to tie us.

Okoro is a great defender and his mediocre offense is on the up and up. Thybulle is an excellent defender with bad offense. Okoro is younger.

?

I'm a big Okoro stan, though my faith was faltering until recently, and despite this substantial improvement he is still quite limited offensively including finishing. But once it all clicks a little more he's gonna be solid.

Also...every single year Okoro performs SUBSTANTIALLY better in the second half of the season. Remember to not get down on him at the beginning of seasons. This is his norm.

And I wouldn't break the bank on Okoro, I hope we don't overpay, even 20 seems a bit steep but idk what his comps are other than Hart

Substantially better then shits the bed in the playoffs
