It's almost as if...as if...as if...the Cavs are better with Donovan Mitchell than Darius Garland. What a surprise.

If you had to pick just one and only one to lead your team to the next level, you pick Mitchell 10/10. Just need a coach that doesn't burn him out by the time the playoffs arrive.

I think cavs are better with only one small guard on the court. Both Garland and Mitchell have games where they excelled as the primary ball handler it is when they have to share the ball it gets a bit more isolation/ your turn my turn offense. Defensively, while both are competent, they are too small and easy to exploit. Strus is not a POA defender and cant cover for both DG and DM shortcomings.

That's my conclusion. Unless they get a new coach that figures out how to use creative screens to maximize their 3pt shooting threats.

Agreed, although I like them both. I think Mitchell is more durable, more likely to be available.

One has to sacrifice when they play together. If Garland can mimic Curry in how he leverages his shooting and his off ball movement and relocation they could make it work. Mitchell has to be more of a play maker too. Garland has played well with playmakers like Rubio.

Mitchell had the good fortune to be going up against one of the worst defensive point guards in the league, and against one of the worst defensive teams in the league. And that's how bad they are with Capela. The team we played last night was just a bad defensive team, so I would take anyone's offensive performance against them with a grain of salt.
