The Cavaliers attempt to break a two-game losing streak as they return home for back-to-back games against the Washington Wizards on Wednesday and Friday. The Wizards are 6-26 on the season and 3-15 on the road. They have one win in 32 games against a team with a winning record (Indiana at 18-14).

The Wizards do a solid job of putting the ball in the basket, ranking 11th in scoring at 116 ppg. However, they are last in scoring defense at 126 ppg.

On offense the Wizards are uptempo, ranking 8th in field goal attempts per game. They’re 3rd in points in the paint and in fast break points, so they clearly like to run the floor and attack the rim. They’re not good from outside, ranking 23rd in 3-point percentage and they’re last in the NBA in offensive rebound percentage.

Defensively they’re 29th in points in the paint allowed per game, 28th in effective field goal percentage, and 30th in defensive rebound percentage. They’re 28th in opponent’s 2-point percentage so the plan should be to attack the rim and follow the shot for put-backs against the league’s worst defensive rebounding team.

PF Kyle Kuzma is their leading scorer at 23.1 ppg. SG Jordan Poole is next at 17.2, although he’s an inefficient shooter at 41% overall and 31% on 3’s. Their other three starters, PG Tyus Jones, SF Deni Avdija, and C Daniel Gafford, average 11-12 points per game. Corey Kispert averages 12 points off the bench.

The Wizards have the league’s third worst winning percentage and are 3-15 on the road, so these next two games should be easy wins providing the Cavs don’t get too complacent.

Cavs break their 2 game losing streak tonight. 70% chance of victory. I expect our shooting will be a lot better.

Final score: Cavs 125-105.

What is not spectacular is this starting lineup.
Also the color commentator is pretty meh.

Pitiful rebounding effort so far; easily should have had an offensive board on JA’s missed jumper and missed grabbing one defensively

Caris preferring to play free and keep thinking to a minimum on the court checks out.
