2023-24 Season | Game #45 | Pistons @ Cavs | Jan. 31, 2024 | 7:00 p.m.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
If we don’t stagger our bigs, we end up with more Jones time. I don’t think Niang can bang with Duren. Mobley will be on a minutes restriction.
I would advocate for a Wade start at PF here. I would put Mobley at center to start so that you don’t bench him and send the wrong message that he won’t be starting going forward. It’s not going to happen but that’s how I would do it. Or you could start the crafty and more offensively aggressive G Wagon and have a rookie guard him. Also won’t happen, but again, I think that containing Duren is the primary concern.

We do have depth tho. We need to run and challenge the rim. Our depth outside of bigs is pretty good, with Ice as a lockdown defender and Wade as well, and Merrill as that guy who can just take over on offense.

I think this one is closer than we want it to be. Ultimately we have enough to win but I expect a bit of a let down game here, and add Garland getting his legs, and maybe no Allen at all, and I don’t expect an easy one.

I honestly think it's as simple as...when they have Ja Morant playing they look like contenders...when they don't, they look like a lottery team.
Which is funny because in past years they’ve actually played better with Ja out.

I miss the Sheed Pistons. That was a good rivalry. He wasn't really a bad person but he was a great villain. That was the last team to win a title without a superstar. LeBron wrecked Detroit in Game 5 like Godzilla wrecked Tokyo, and then Boobie shot them outta the series. When Sheed fouled out and got the tech we knew we had that first Finals appearance locked.

This Pistons team is a disgrace.

I have a really bad feeling about this game. Detroit has some very talented players and they play hard, with nothing to lose. They have lost a lot of close games and we are prime for a letdown after beating some very good teams lately. My biggest hope is that some one will come back later tonight and talk about poorly this post aged!

Detroit is such a basketball wasteland.

Good game to get DG back into action with.

Hmmm. So Mitchell and Allen aren’t in hospice afterall.

First game back at essentially full strength so it will be fascinating to see how the rotations goes.

Will it be 9 or 10?

9 would exclude one of Merrill or Wade, as I don’t believe for one minute JBB would not play Okoro, LeVert, or Niang.

Hoping for 10 man rotation and hoping for a blowout.

Preemptively laughing at anyone who thinks a 9 man rotation would be a “fireable offense”

Certainly would be a decision to take issue with, disagree with, be annoyed at, and even criticize but we should avoid the Hyperbole Hotel at all costs

You can say that again

Good game to bring in the regular starting lineup because both the caliber of the opponent and the minute restrictions makes it easier/necessary for Bickerstaff to experiment with rotating early and involving more players in the rotation.

I’d be surprised if Merrill plays ahead of Wade. Nice to have roster depth.

I expect a blowout and our 3rd string playing in the 4th quarter: Porter and Jones, as well as Merrill and Niang. We'll see.

Would be music to all of our ears

Just looking to stack wins but would love a blowout of course
