just got done watching. What a shit show in the second half.
I’d like to see stats on how many NBA teams scored 80 points in the first half and then lost.

Pretty hard to believe, I think we are the only team on this list that lost...

We are not as talented as the Celtics or Sixers.

The Bucks are a tossup only because of Giannis. But I do think the Cavs talent is capable of beating the Bucks. Mobley always plays Giannis well, and I think we match up well against them in general.

The Knicks similarly don't have more talent than us, but they do play way more physical and rebound much better, so we'd lose against them.

This Cavs team has a lot of issues, but "overall talent" isn't one of them. There was a time not even 2 months ago that JBB was forced to expand to a 10-11 man rotation because so many of our players were consistently performing and deserved minutes.

There are absolutely areas where this team can and should be improved, but I don't think anyone would agree that JB is maximizing the talents of this roster at all. A coaching change needs to happen first and foremost, if not just to increase the trade value of these guys even more.

Okay you definitely view them way higher than me. See I don’t think our roster is as good as any of them. I think the Knicks are legit better. Even without Randle. With Randle, they are definitely better to me. Not even a little. By a pretty decent gap.

I think Brunson is better than Mitchell, personally. This year at least. I never saw him morphing into such a beast player.

I feel embarrassed once saying Garland was better. What a laughable take that is in hindsight.

Against my better judgement, I attended the game in person. The last Cavs-Clippers game I attended was when LeBron, Kyrie, and Kevin Love all sat for rest. That experience scarred me.

The first half was super entertaining. There were a lot of hyped up Cavs fans, and the Clippers fans were totally out of it.

The second half was one of the worst I’ve seen. As others have said, I knew the Cavs would lose shortly after the start of the third quarter. They had zero momentum and looked totally gassed (which made me angry that the starters weren’t pulled sooner in yesterday’s loss). No one seemed to be providing any energy/motivation.

A few observations:
  • JB was doing his usual nonstop complaining to the refs, and I was surprised by how much Clippers fans picked up on it and taunted him for it. But in the second half, it didn’t look to me like JB was exerting the same energy to get his players’ attention.
  • I see some people commenting on how Sam Merrill didn’t play in the second half, but it looked to me like he never even came out of the locker room after halftime. Did something happen to him?
  • I thought that Donovan always looked very engaged from the bench. Who knows what the future holds, but I saw no evidence of him being checked out already.
Given the Cavs’ recent play, I don’t have a lot of hope for the playoffs. But hopefully the Cavs can make a run of it.

I saw that coming when someone mentioned the Alice in Chains singer. I knew Duce was next and then someone was going to retort with dropping one at center court. Now are we going to double down and make a Patrick Swayze Roadhouse reference

A single adjustment by an opposing coach can throw this team off, and that's just the worst sign. Because JBB is not the kind of coach that can counter-the-counter effectively.

Now granted, this matchup looks way different if Donovan could actually play unimpeded and Dean Wade was available to spell Mobley or join Mobley in one-big lineups.

But this was just a disaster that has me still so mad, I'm up at obscene hours typing about it on a work night.

I will say, those who want more shooting and less bigs can go place themselves on the wall if they are so concerned with shooting.

That wasn't the issue. Defense is ass. And those who prefer more offense to defense can go root for the Pacers. Or maybe the Kings (which I might do if the Cavs do a dumb trade to add more spacing for a player who isn't better or taller than Max Strus).

All the complaints about Koby Altman. he lucked into a 2 year deal for LeVert (the one who really needs to be moved, even if the box score is tolerable).

As bad as some of the players were (esp. on rebounding effort), I think having someone here who can actually EMPHASIZE the little things this team needs to do to win in suboptimal conditions is going to pay the most forward.

On the post game radio show, Mike Snyder commented that at this point, you have to wonder
about the character of the team.
What’s to wonder about? They show all the signs of being Charmin-soft.

Beach Boys hot rod reference is next.

Why wasn't Merrill in there for the last ATO play?

Simple, Garland doesn't look for him and we have a coach that litterly cannot draw up plays, 90% of his ATO's are complete disasters
