2023 Game #7 | #7 Penn State @ #3 Ohio State | October 21th, 2023 @ 12:00 PM EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Allar cried in the postgame presser, saying how bad he sucked today.

Some NFL team is gonna make Joe Milton a late 1st round pick. It won't work out, of course, but count on it.

His measureables will be great. He'll have the strongest arm at the combine. Etc.

Can see it now: “The black Josh Allen”

games over but I still dont understand why Penn St decided to go for 2 pts at the end.

like why?

Gives you a better chance to win
but if you dont get like they did, then you are forced to go for it again just to tie it if they had scored again.

doesnt matter now but I thought it was strange thing to do.

Not confident about winning in ot is the logic

And if you get it, an xp wins it.

So less of a chance for a tie but better chance to win.

Game highlights. Ohio State looked in control the whole game. Allen doesn't seem to be a great QB for Penn State.

When was the last time the Buckeyes had a QB this bad? Shows how well they have gotten in recruiting and developing good QBs that I really can't remember.

So I was thinking about this and it's more that McCord is inconsistent. The Buckeyes have had QBs that are just consistent and they could lean on one aspect of their game if they needed to. McCord might have passing talent that other Buckeyes QBs didn't but those QBs like JT, Pryor, or Braxton just allowed us to run the ball if they weren't passing well.

McCord just isn't a top tier passer consistently enough. If Devin Brown was more of a run threat he might be a better option but his running hasn't looked to translate to the college level so we can't live with lesser passing game.

I think Bauserman was the last Buckeye QB that just didn't bring enough to the table. I really think Kenny Guiton would have won the QB1 job by a mile over McCord and Brown. I think McCord was propped up by being teammates with Harrison in HS. Brown looked better than he was by playing against a weak competition of HS football in Utah.

I might be wrong because I don’t particularly remember Bauserman very well.

I feel like McCord has way more top end elite talent but Bauserman was way more consistent. Consistently mediocre, but consistent. McCord is a rollercoaster ride.
