The defensive tackles have been manhandled today. That's worrying.
Rutgers is the 2nd best rushing team in the Big Ten. So factor that in.
The rest is only concerning if all of the DBs are hurt for the year.
Denzel Burke is, legitimately, the best defensive player on the team and the second best player on the team. He just cuts the field in half. No one throws at him. Makes all of the safeties jobs way, way easier.

Also even though they've been poor against the run, they're still not giving up any big plays (outside of the very cool fumblerooski, which is a one off thing). So Rutgers is getting 5-6 yards a pop but can't get into the endzone.

Not surprised we looked sluggish. Clearly didn’t want to be there after 2 emotional games. This game wasn’t terribly different than the Michigan-Rutgers game….and Michigan had a big advantage that game.
We saw how important Proctor and Ransom are. Need to get them both back.
Offense is just whatever…I think McCord only had 2 bad throws all game, but one almost cost us the game. Had some bad drops and pass protection breakdowns. Just can’t get everything clicking at the same time.

I like Fickell as a person. Be cool to see him succeed. I in no way think he's a good football coach.
He caught some lightning at Cincy but I remember him absolutely blowing that Peach Bowl game against Georgia and I never forgot his response about playing to win. I just think he's probably generally on the lower end of the IQ scale.

I thought the defense was pretty good all things considered. Both starting DBs out and the offense in the first half put them in real bad spots. Interception and botched fake punt back to back possessions is tough
