no.. it was hoped he might progress to the point where he might be considered.. no more than that..Was Espino in the plans for this year?

I'm trying not to agree with you...You don’t add 10-12 pounds of “muscle” in 4 months without being on the gas.
Rocchio is on track for a June call-up and is better defensively that Arias, who is better than Freeman. We also currently have Amed there. This actually gives both players MORE playing time. I think the targeted criticism is that we're just too stacked in MIF organizationally so we're forced to suboptimally position and I don't disagree with that.I know Tito likes flexibility, but I just hate it when they have a player at one position for years in his MiLB career, and then when they get close to an opportunity in the bigs, they ask him to move. That's gotta play with their mind.
Say what you want about Amed, but when they asked him to play CF, he tried, he didn't bitch publicly. But that was a bad idea. I think Arias is a SS. Leave him there.
Agreed, Jose came up as a 2B/SS. Had to move around due to positions being blocked. Now he’s the best 3rd basemen in the league. Maybe one of these guys will breakout and excel in the OF or a different position.Rocchio is on track for a June call-up and is better defensively that Arias, who is better than Freeman. No, Will Brennan will be in CF when Myles Straw isn't.I'll be curious to see if Kwan gets a fair amount of reps in CF this spring.
I could certainly see some situations (early on for sure) where Kwan is in CF, especially with Straw on the shelf for a min.No, Will Brennan will be in CF when Myles Straw isn't.

Not talking about the season, I am talking about Spring Training where a lot of players are playing, split squads, etc. These aren't real world scenarios... We may see Kwan in CF, flanked by Freeman and Arias in the corners, or not.. That won't/shouldn't happen in the regular season but February 27th? Why not?To start the season, it's likely Brennan in CF and Kwan in LF with Kwan getting some time in CF...
I am guessing though guys like Valera and Quinn will get some innings there as well. If Straw is out for any extended time though you may see the team go north with Quinn until Straw is healthy and then switching out Naylor back to AAA to put another C on the roster...
Tyler Freeman... He has as they say "filled out"... Is there any real power on tap???
