2024 Around The League Off-Season

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Definitely some interesting non-tendered players... If someone(s) plays their cards right, they might be able to find some real value.

I'm sure the FO probably has what they would spend on him... Though I don't actually see Cleveland being that interested...
There doesn't appear to be any interest whatsoever in him.. He's never on the field..

... you think Kyle Lewis is worth a gamble?

No, well on a minor league contract... Maybe. . Not sure most of the non-tenders look great for us, but if I were to pick one... Spencer Turnbull?

Nola would be great to pair with Lavastida in AAA but someone will have a better spot for him I think.

The many names on the list that were worthy of consideration are few..

I'll start with the MiLB thing.. IDK about MiLB contract talk... it's a hedge negotiating thing that isn't the point of the discussion.. So, I'll leave it alone..

There are truly only two questions...

-Can the guy play?

-Will the guy be able to play?

If the Lewis medicals prove to be pristine and a workout shows the promise he had when drafted.. then, Kyle Lewis is about as good of a risk as any team can take w/r to finding that diamond in the rough.. Skeptically speaking.. doubtful..

Shoot, I am willing to get some offers on guys... OF Kyle Lewis, SP Spencer Turnbull, 1B/OF Juan Yepez, C Jacob Stallings, C Andrew Knizner... there is some decent names out there... Let's see what they want and if any want a MiLB deal with opt out, offer them the deal. We lose nothing by doing so...

Former ROY CF Kyle Lewis is now a FA. If he can get healthy - ----

Spencer Turnbull is a guy, Cleveland is likely to try and get in Cleveland... missed part of 21 and all of 22 with injury and was ineffective in 23. He was a legit SP before the injury. If we can get him on an MiLB deal and get him righted, he would definitely be a depth piece and/or a trade piece in 24. He's the type of guy who could have a rebound year.

I would be shocked if Cleveland didn't have some type of deal for Lewis on the board already... Doubt though it's a MLB deal though...

Brandon Phillips makes HOF ballot.

Tim Anderson's replacement looks to be... Also the Tigers are very interested in Kenta Maeda

This means the Cardinals are going to rely on Masyn Winn or will be looking for an MLB Ready middle infield SS candidate.. to go with a veteran SP.. The Cardinals have RHH OF'ers who can hit for power in excess.. I wonder who they're going to be talking to??? hhmmmm???

Well, they did just sign Lance Lynn and Kyle Gibson…..so they may be good on the vet SP.

And it is "official".

4:15pm: The two sides now have an agreement in place pending a physical, per Mark Feinsand of MLB.com. The financial details are still not known, though it’s a one-year deal, per Bob Nightengale of USA Today.
