So he basically gave up guaranteed money? They weren’t going to cut him so he could have gotten that 15.8M regardless now he had to earn it with incentives. Thats a pretty wild move for an agent to agree on.

They would’ve cut him if he didn’t agree to the reduction.

That is the whole point.

I don’t think they would have cut him. They still have a lot of moves to make to open up more cap space. I think there’s a wink wink agreement on a new contract if anything.
 
Aaron Jones received $7m guaranteed from the Vikings. Henry received $9m guaranteed from the Ravens.

$11.75m guaranteed with incentives to get back to that original amount is pretty damn good for Chubb. Glad he's back
 
It wouldn’t surprise me if the incentives were easily attainable.

Example, show up to Game 1 as a human being and you get $2 million.
