2024 Cleveland Browns Off-Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
In general, the Browns drafting on offense hasn’t been very good since Berry took over. I think Wills is the only offensive starter we have that’s been drafted by Berry, and a better player at the same position was taken immediately after.
They've invested so little draft capital there that it doesn't really matter.

Wills is playable. Bell is a JAG, Schwartz was a whiff, Jones is awesome, Bryant a JAG, Ford is TBD and the rest are 5th round and later.

And what we used to get those guys were: 1st, 3rd, 3rd, 4thN 4th, 4th.

Let's wait to see them use real assets there before we claim he "can't draft offense."

Did I say he “can’t draft offense”? No. I said the Browns haven’t drafted well on offense since Berry took over. Two very different things. What I said isn’t wrong. All of our good offensive players are from trades, FA, or were on the team when Berry took over.

Umm... yes. That's exactly what you said.

Here's your post:

Get tired of the media that praises every single move the browns make. 7th rd picks, udfa’s doesn’t matter. They will be pro bowlers. Just break the film down and give me the pros and cons

I haven't seen one report praising a single UDFA. They're all just "Browns sign this guy"

Cheer up buttercup.

I don’t have much issue with his drafting. Those “misses” are applicable to literally every time in the league. Jordan Elliot contributed decently for multiple years and it’s not like he was drafted high.

If I had to bitch about one it would be Anthony Schwartz and Nick Harris. Schwartz was just gross.

Some people here had Harris as their highest graded center during the draft.

Even Harris found a weird niche last year as a blocking FB type guy and received a contract from the Seahawks.

Schwartz was just ass.

Schwartz was definitely a flop...

Though with the fact Berry put so many picks overall into Watson, Cooper, Judy etc... it's hard to say how he would have done with all those picks instead (though unless Cleveland wins the super bowl with Watson, I will never like the Watson trade).

Crazy thing is even had we kept the picks and not traded for Watson, the Browns might not’ve been able to truly address the QB position until this year anyway. The draft we traded for Watson was the Kenny Pickett year and all the reasonable vet guys had been traded at that point.

Last year the solution would’ve been Rodgers who was likely always destined for NY. Then the other options would’ve been Lance and maybe Levis or Richardson.

Who knows what else we could’ve done with the other picks and cap space, but outside of making Brissett the starter the Browns are likely taking a QB in this years draft and hoping they workout.

Definitely a sanctioned NFL event that was about as boring of a production as possible.

No suspense, no real surprises outside of Penix-- just a blah event.
