2024 Minor League Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Huff over Ingle is probably age and defense related, though it's surprising he jumps A+ level.

No Kokx and also no Gabriel Rodriguez, hmmm. No priority. They'll wait it out in EST, I guess.

A surprise for me is Lampe at AA over Fox. Must have had a very strong ST. Mlbpipeline article did highlight Lampe as breakout player.

Walters straight to AA, I like
They probably just love Lampe.

Umm, Joey Cantillo on IL? What's up with that? Not good

Meisel reporting out 8-10 weeks for hammy
  • Joey Cantillo, a left-handed pitcher in the Guardians organization, will miss eight to 10 weeks with a hamstring strain he suffered at the end of spring training, per Mandy Bell of MLB.com. Cantillo was unlikely to make the Guardians Opening Day roster, even if he had stayed healthy this spring. That said, he is already on the 40-man roster, and after 18 starts at Triple-A last season, he seemed like a good candidate to make his MLB debut at some point this year. That could still happen, but he’ll have to wait at least a couple of months to get that chance.

Lynchburg roster, key is Velazquez is an infielder not catcher (may get pen work to still develop but low A as bat is nothing to sneeze at out of HS)

I tried to copy over Criznit's post from the 2023 thread that had the 2024 AAA Opening Day Roster (so all the opening rosters were in this thread). -MT88

With Joey Cantillo's injury, Will Dion could end up the first one up from AAA. If he has a hot start and the MLB team needs help... Dion is the guy. Hope he dominates in his debut.

Edit. Zak Kent being on the 40 man might factor in though... We'll see.

It is kind of pathetic AAA pitching in my mind. Some of it is that Williams will kick Cookie down to pen or AAA (so Dion doesn't need to be rushed). Curry will probably go to AAA as we need length for 6th/7th starters more then pen (and avoid DFA Bedee and Cookie to pen for Smith w Williams return). And, remember Bedee and Lively have no options, so have to be DFA as people come back. But, the more we keep AAA sparse, the more likely we convince them to stay with us as we got jack for depth.

SC .... we discussed the starters (or lack there off)

Dion is going today
Gillespie goes on Sunday
Then ....
Kent (probably waiting till Tuesday as he was just traded for)
Stanley
Oller???

Who is excited to go to Columbus this year?

That hitting lineup actually looks pretty legit though...

Yeah, that AAA rotation looks a little rough...

Bringing in another free agent AAA/AAAA pitcher type seems likely at some point. Wouldn't be the first time.
