Sorry, not a bust per se but:Name names. I cannot recall anyone saying he was a bust.
That's a pretty disappointing start considering so many returning players, especially hitters. Plus two top prospects in Velazquez and Chourio.
So far, Chourio looks like the real top prospect and Velazquez with 3 more K looks incredibly one dimensional profile quickly. It's not Carson Tucker bad yet, but the start isn't looking good. A teenage 1B who swings and miss, great, let's overdraft him and give him 2.5M
Sorry, not a bust per se but:
Better not be towards me.
Not towards you BMANBetter not be towards me.
Really hard to not imagine Chourio skyrocketing in prospect rankings by the end of this season.
As a data nerd (not dismissing this by any means nor is this a shot at you) but I can pick any hitter and find a random stat that makes them look bad.He passes both eye and statline test.
That 4% SwStr rate, droool. One of the lowest at the level
Velazquez' is at 16%
All fair. I just want some motherfucking power along with high contact in this org and Ralphy has it.Yeah, I explained why I'm not enamored with HS 1B selections. In rd 1. Velasquez either develops into Josh Naylor or he's a bust.
He was drafted as a C, and now he's a 1B, that's a significant value drop and puts much more pressure on his bat. Single A power is fine and all, but that SwStr and K rate usually doesn't translate well up the ladder.
That's why I mentioned the Schwarber unicorn profile. I just wouldn't put 2.5M eggs into that basket. If he becomes that, I'll happily eat that basket.

Hope it's not too serious. Nikhazy and Hankins are probably the two "best" starters in Akron and both are down with injuries.
Im sorry, but I just can't get excited about a prospect who will eventually shoot his own eye out.
