2024 Season | Series #10 | Guardians @ Astros | Apri 30 - May 2, 2024

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Easy to say from behind a computer.

But when these young kids have been the best player on their teams or one of the best players on their teams every level from youth ball through AAA to even get to the MLB and are playing their primary position every day because of that, changing the routine and all of a sudden just taking 3 or 4 PAs and calling it a day is a monkey wrench in the game for them.

We're dealing with the human element here, something that too often is overlooked in sports. There is a reason most successful full time DHs are guys in their mid-30s.

Needless to say, maybe there should be an emphasis on guys strictly hitting as they progress through the system?

There is a system of pitchers just pitching. Maybe hitters should just hit?

Fuck all these Ohtani wannabees?

And yet his OPS is 40 points higher than Rocchio's.

So if he stinks so far this year, what's that say about ol' wonderboy?
??????????

Roccio deserved a shot..let's see how his numbers look after 400 at bats like Arias had last year. I never said he was gonna be great. I said he deserves an opportunity to show what ha can do. Apparently Vogt isn't as smart as you. And don't want to hear how Arias is a defensive wizard after that display tonight. Little leaguers don't drop pop ups like that.

Fantastic start by Logan Allen. His defense let him down big time with Bo letting in a run on a two-out passed ball and Arias dropping a fly ball. The two-run homer would never have come to bat if Arias doesn't give them an extra out. And Allen got charged with a triple.

Allen should have had six scoreless innings tonight with just mediocre defense behind him.

If Allen, McKenzie, Bibee, and Lively can continue pitching the way they have in their last starts, we're in great shape. Carrasco is the only starter who is struggling.

I'm fucking with you man.

Lighten up francis.

Good point, I never realized that. So I guess bringing up Manzardo and making him a DH is not in the plans? The only option if we want Manzardo is to make Josh the full-time DH since he has 1,000 PA's?

I'm sure we didn't trade Aaron Civale for a guy to help Columbus win a championship, so it looks like Josh is destined to be a DH as soon as Manzardo is called up.

There is no value in the DH only for teams.

Guys who can play positions are where the value is at. Every team is going to exhaust every avenue they have to develop the best hitters who can play a defensive position as they possibly can.

You would be operating against your own interests if you start developing hitters only and making guys DH's in the minors.

I think Josh can play some right field, bad foot or not.

The difference here is I have heard willglam uses ChatGPT for his posts, while mopete puts in effort for his well thoughtout posts.
The difference is I started my post with
“I believe” which means I was giving my opinion based on what I saw numerous times. That is what everyone does on here and why it’s fun to come in to read the different takes. You don’t like my opinion that’s fine, maybe if I did use ChatGPT I’d get more likes from you…

Just saw your edit here, but the same rule applies to pitchers too. Just in a different version.

If you draft or acquire a starter as a prospect you are going to exhaust every opportunity to keep a pitcher a starter before turning them into a reliever. Like Hentges or Gaddis. Both guys made it to the MLB as starters, not relievers, because SP is where the value is at.

You can give your opinion.

I am telling you, factually, that your opinion is wrong considering I know the person in question. We'll leave it at that.
