The first place Guardians will be buyers.

Who are we buying and why?

One less guy on the market — would have loved to pillage this Miami team and now they’re all busted.

I think it's obvious this team needs SP and badly. Unfortunately so does everyone else.

I feel like Laureano needs replaced... internally or externally?

Who would even be available?

Next I feel like we may need another SP... Guys I think are the top two on my list...

Paul Blackburn from the A's

Ryan Feltner from the Rockies...

Heck Cal Quantrill could come back as a rental for the stretch run especially if TMac goes down...

This is a big reason why I want to see Manzardo and DeLauter up early.

Team needs to know if buying a bat is needed or not. If it's not, then they can explore the most expensive goods on the market: starting pitchers.

How might the TV contract dilemma effect what we do?

Yes, we've made some decent splashes at the deadline in years past, but, to my memory, it's never really for a bonafide starter that hasn't dropped off a cliff.

And, just for fun......

Dolan's are cheap

I actually kind of like DeLauters early season struggles, makes keeping him down that much easier.

1. Manzardo will be added at some point. But.
2. Johnathan Rodriguez will strikeout as much as Florial, but he continues to take walks/get on base.
3. Our #1 draft pick should end up/be a high caliber ML bat
4. If we do end up buying a bat, it will be a Jay Bruce, Eddie Rosario type IMO. Shouldn't be that expensive and likely a pure rental.
5. Adding a starting pitcher seems like a done deal if we are in the race. Might be a big fish too.

We could also go for a Luplow and/or Guyer... aka a blocked guy or a specialist... I wouldn't be surprised to see us try to get a Connor Norby from Baltimore in a sense because he is likely blocked in Baltimore and Baltimore needs more pitching...

Are we in a position to give them that pitching?

That's a fair assessment...

We have what 10-15 pitchers who are rule 5 eligible this off season we have to make a decision on... IF we could move the lesser of them for a need, I think we will definitely do it...

In Cleveland's system, these guys are likely RPs, but could possibly be SPs in lesser pitching systems...

Sonny Gray would be a great option ....

if we could affor....

Do you envision this year’s top pick as contending with the current core? That is something I hadn’t considered.

I still think Edward Cabrera or Trevor Rogers from their rotation could be dealt here.
