Amidst the Pau Gasol trade rumors, I came up with a 3 way trade between us, the Rockets, and the Lakers that makes too much sense to not happen.

Cleveland receives
LA First (projected 20)
Houston First (projected 17)
Chandler Parsons
Hasheen Thabeet

Houston Receives
Ramon Sessions
Pau Gasol
Lamar Odom TPE

LA Receives
Kyle Lowry
Louis Scola
Antwan Jamison

This gives us our pick, currently 8th, but just 2 wins above Sacramento, who is currently picking 4th, 17 and 20.

Just some projections:
8 - Brad Beal, Austin Rivers, Jeremy Lamb
17 - Patric Young, Terrence Ross, Myers Leonard
20 - Deion Waters, Jeff Taylor

That would be nice but I don't think Houston has their pick. I'm almost positive that it's promised to another team with heavy restrictions.

EDIT
2012 first round draft pick to New Jersey Houston's own 2012 1st round pick to New Jersey (top 14 protected in 2012, top 14 protected in 2013, top 14 protected in 2014, top 14 protected in 2015 and top 14 protected in the 2016 Draft). If New Jersey does not receive a 1st round pick from Houston by the 2016 Draft, then Houston will convey their own 2017 2nd round pick and cash to New Jersey. [Houston - Los Angeles Lakers - New Jersey, 12/15/2010]

BUT
2012 first round draft pick from New York New York's own 2012 1st round pick to Houston (top 5 protected in 2012, top 5 protected in 2013, top 5 protected in 2014, and top 5 protected in the 2015 Draft). If Houston does not receive a 1st round pick from New York by the 2015 Draft, then New York will convey their own 2015 2nd round pick and 2016 2nd round pick to Houston. [Houston - New York - Sacramento, 2/18/2010]

Why is this bad? Houston would part with Lowry if it meant Gasol (Dragic may not be Lowry but he is pretty damn good)

No you are wrong on this one, they will part with anyone but Lowry period.

because they give up their most valuable young asset to not really be much better? plus as mentioned earlier they don't even have their pick this year.

truthfully houston is fucked. they have one good young player plus a bunch of role players of various ages....but they don't have any way to get significantly better and yet they aren't bad enough to have a good shot at drafting another good young player. good example of a treadmill team that will be a treadmill team for a while.

The trade idea posts have "rysen" up these past few days.

Read the title. Instantly though of Deenothreesome.

Morey gets a lot of credit it seems for GM skills, but the only thing he has done really is lead them to consistent mediocrity - well known to be the worst place for an NBA team. On a recent Bill Simmons podcast, he basically admitted that although the league is set up in such a way that tanking/sucking is rewarded, they are doing it differently -- it's as if he likes repeatedly running headfirst into a wall.
