Here's an idea I came-up with:

Cleveland sends Anderson Varejao, Wally Szczerbiak, Eric Snow, and 2010 1st round pick to the Dallas Mavericks; Damon Jones & Cash considerations to Denver

Dallas sends Josh Howard to Denver & Jason Kidd to Cleveland

Denver sends Chucky Atkins, Marcus Camby , Linas Kleiza, 2010 2nd round pick to Cleveland and 2009 1st round pick to Dallas.

Why this trade could happen:

Dallas realizes that Jason Kidd just isn't going to be able to help them win a championship... the talent-level in the west is too high, and Kidd doesn't provide what is needed for the Mavericks. Dallas gives-up Josh Howard, but receives a good PF, who is younger & cheaper in Anderson Varejao. They rid themselves of some large contracts, pick-up a replacement for Howard, and get another 1st round pick (from Denver).

Denver has been shopping Camby for a year now, but cannot get anything of substance for him. Camby is a 2X defensive-player of the year, but he's 34 years old and he's starting to slip. Denver jumps at the chance to get a Young front-line player to team with Carmelo, Martin and Iverson.

Cleveland does this trade because of the offense that they run and the fact that they have no real options at the #2, and the S&T's and the FA's have dried-up (hypothetically). Jason Kidd is the PG that LeBron WANTS, and that will be another motivating factor. Camby is old, but he is still a force on the boards and a defensive stopper. Kidd will come off the books next year, and the Cavaliers can either re-sign him to a small 2-year deal, or if it doesn't work-out, then they can go in another direction with Gibson or Delonte.

So many reason this doesnt work. One snow isnt getting traded, we are taking the cap savings. Two, kidd isnt going for that little, they gave up way to much to get him. Three, why do the nuggets want josh howard? They want a point gurard. They have ai at the 2 and ca at the 3, the might let jr smith walk because he isnt needed, not sure joshd howard is a huge upgrade. There are more reasons

Because Josh Howard is actually a SG even though he plays SF.

He is a better defender, rebounder & scorer than Smith.

Dallas would LOVE this deal, as they get their two picks back, and don't have to eat Kidd's salary for another season. They made a mistake, and this is the best that they may be able to do, as far as a do-over.

Denver would be able to play Howard, Melo, Martin, and Iverson at the same time.... That is a KILLER offense, and a pretty good defensive team... and with the exception of Martin, athletic as hell.

wow, never gonna happen

wow, never gonna happen

Yeah, I know...

But, it is an idea.... and even if the teams don't like it, I DO!!! :chuckles::chuckles::chuckles::chuckles::chuckles::chuckles:

I hate trade ideas. Soooo pointless unless there is a source.

trade idea < trade rumor

Heath, I never had a problem with you before, but now I do too.

Every time I log onto RCF for SOMETHING NEW, I go looking down the list for major headlines. And every time I stumble onto your thread title, I get so excited because for a split second I think it is something that went down(I can't click fast enough). But then I look at the thread Author, and I get pissed.

You have to put some sort of symbol or something at the begging of your thread titles. Something to let us know it is JUST thinking out loud, and NOT A MAJOR HEADLINE.

Oh, and put a damn "?" at the end of the thread title at the very least.

You have to look at it like this RLaw.... it's a thread by Heath, 10-10 it's going to be far fetched. At least he's keeping it in the right forum. And no, I'm not sticking up for him either, I've grown tired of this, but I'm just dealing with it.

Also, I believe he has a new trade idea every other day, and I think his ultimate goal is to have some part of any trade of his go down so he can say "I told you so!"

Just do what I do, ignore any thread started by Heath. It usually works out better.

Or put "idea" somewhere in the title.

Anyways since this is posted in the "trade ideas" forum, I already know they are made up trades. Look for the real thing (if a trade goes down with the Cavs) to be in "Cavs Talk."

... put a "?" at the end of the thread title at the very least.

Good Idea.

However, if you read the opening to the Trade "Ideas" it clearly tells the reader what the forum is about:

Trade Ideas
  • Play Ferry's Advocate. Discuss your very own trade ideas, or trades that you would like the Organization to make.

The whole purpose of this forum (trade-ideas) is outlined in it's description, and the forum was created specifically for this purpose... for IDEAS!!!

EVERY thread you see in THIS sub-board, is an IDEA, and has no substance! If you are looking for substance, you'll have to look in "Cav's Talk."

I hate to agree with heath on this one, but this is exactly why the forum was created. Its a cavs fantasy forum. Kind of like Dungeon and Dragons for Cavs fans, not my thing, but heath has posted his fantasies in the proper place, the RCF basement.:D

All I am saying is, like other people, I use the "New Posts" option. And when you are looking in there, there is no separator. And the only way you can see what forum the thread is in, is if you look on the very right.

The "New Posts" option is a very powerful and POPULAR tool. And we need to post with that in mind.

Yeah, But don't they have to be realistic?

In-truth, I can come-up with a trade-idea 5-times every day. However, I have no "goal" (as you say), and I could care-less if things happen the way one of my ideas say... they are just "Ideas!!!" It's just a coincidence if a trade "happens" to follow an idea I may have posted.

Good-point Ru-Law... I agree, the "New-post" tool is popular, and very handy. Perhaps a post in the "Ask the staff" forum may help get something done about this, as it would be nice to know what threads are real or "ideas" before reading them.
