Here's an idea I came-up with:
Cleveland sends Anderson Varejao, Wally Szczerbiak, Eric Snow, and 2010 1st round pick to the Dallas Mavericks; Damon Jones & Cash considerations to Denver
Dallas sends Josh Howard to Denver & Jason Kidd to Cleveland
Denver sends Chucky Atkins, Marcus Camby , Linas Kleiza, 2010 2nd round pick to Cleveland and 2009 1st round pick to Dallas.
Why this trade could happen:
Dallas realizes that Jason Kidd just isn't going to be able to help them win a championship... the talent-level in the west is too high, and Kidd doesn't provide what is needed for the Mavericks. Dallas gives-up Josh Howard, but receives a good PF, who is younger & cheaper in Anderson Varejao. They rid themselves of some large contracts, pick-up a replacement for Howard, and get another 1st round pick (from Denver).
Denver has been shopping Camby for a year now, but cannot get anything of substance for him. Camby is a 2X defensive-player of the year, but he's 34 years old and he's starting to slip. Denver jumps at the chance to get a Young front-line player to team with Carmelo, Martin and Iverson.
Cleveland does this trade because of the offense that they run and the fact that they have no real options at the #2, and the S&T's and the FA's have dried-up (hypothetically). Jason Kidd is the PG that LeBron WANTS, and that will be another motivating factor. Camby is old, but he is still a force on the boards and a defensive stopper. Kidd will come off the books next year, and the Cavaliers can either re-sign him to a small 2-year deal, or if it doesn't work-out, then they can go in another direction with Gibson or Delonte.
