Washington message boards seem to be arguing that Cleveland has to take back more than Jamison in order to agree to a salary dump, and the name that's being mentioned is Stevenson. I think Stevenson can still play, but the way he acted 2 years ago suggests that Lebron may not like him at all. That said, a 3rd team could be included

Cleveland sends out: 2010 1st round pick (and possibly their 2012 pick too)
Z
Wally (S&T)
Leon Powe

Cleveland recieves:
Jamison
Kevin Martin

Sacramento sends out: Kevin Martin

Sacramento receives:
Deshaun Stevenson
1 or 2 Cleveland first round picks
(Powe)
Wally

Washington sends out:
Jamison
Stevenson

Recieves:
Z's expiring contract
(Powe)
(draft pick)

I think this trade needs a bit more tweaking, but I think Stevenson's competant shooting, defense and ballhandling is appealing to the Kings, along with some draft picks. I'd rather Powe go to Sacramento than Washington, but I think he should be included instead of Hickson, and he definitely has value to other teams.

Why do you think we should trade Powe when he hasn't even played in a freaking game.

This is what I was thinking:
Cavs get:
Antawn
Martin

Kings get:
Nick Young
Z
Haywood
Cash

Wizards get:
Kenny Thomas
Andres Nocioni
Wally at $9 Million
Cavs 1st

do we really need another thread for this... and washington fans can blow me. ferry has these teams by the absolute balls, he knows it and they know it. If a team wants to cut salary there are only a couple of select teams that can do it, and with Z being bought out the cavs come to the top. So ferry is probably going to wait till the week before the trade deadline (maybe even just a couple of days), pick up to the phone call the wizards and offer Z for jamison straight up. and eventually the wizards will fold, because its their best option

The only thing that worries me about getting too close to the deadline is that some other team thinks (may not seem logical to you or I but nevertheless....) that Jamison is the guy they need for a playoff run and straight-up overpays or Jamison is part of some 3 team deal that does not include the Cavs and then Ferry is left out in the cold?

i worry about that too, however I think right now the cavs are probably out playing the field. they know what it would take to get jamison right now, they know they can probably wait. So now ferry is out trying to make things happen. For example an AI/brand trade or the likes... or maybe he is trying to figure out a way to mix amare, bosh, jamison, AI, and brand in a 5 team trade that ends up with the cavs getting AI and bosh? OOOHHHHH didnt see that one coming did you

I'd take on Stevenson's contract, and buy him out the next day, and never let him in the locker room. If it meant getting Jamison, do it.

We would have to add more players to have the salaries match up. We are sending 11.5 mil and getting 21.8 mil in return.

Why would SAcramento give up Martin without getting value in return? They are on the way up. The days of Sac and OKC giving up value for money relief is over. These are teams that are looking to build on the talent they have now.

You're right but its' not just that. We all are well aware of how tough it is to deal with Sacramento.

Their GM is an absolute pain in the as*.

So the Cavs, and specifically Dan Gilbert invests LOTS of time and money in a young guy like Leon Powe to get him back to what he use to be, and before he gets one minute on the floor playing for the Cavs we ship him off somewhere via a trade?

Give me some of that stuff you are smoking. :)

Keep in mind too that Sacramento has a deal from Dallas sitting on the table that would send Josh Howard their way for Kevin Martin.

Yeah, don't think we top that, nor should we when Z's contract should give us plenty of options.

Sacramento saves $17 million just dealing with Dallas, gets rid of 2 bad contracts. Mark Cuban is rich so he can pay luxury taxes. Gets Kevin Martin who he wants and tough guy defender asshole in Nocioni.

Great post!!!!
I would only add that any trade involving Z MUST include him coming back to the Cavs in 30 days.
Do we throw in a late 1st round pick? Maybe.
JJ? NO WAY!!! Dude was a beast against LA last night.
What is it about these Lakers that brings out the best in the Cavs?

Come the trade deadline...forget Mo Gotti, it's all about Mo Ferry...
Hey Washington...he's got an offer you can't refuse!!! :king:
