4 way trade that actually makes a little sense

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
My initial thought is that the Kings aren't thinking as Jose Calderon as the centerpiece of a trade that would give away Kevin Martin. I don't know if New Orleans is desperate enough to dump Okafor strictly for salary relief either - they aren't THAT far over the cap.

Might be one of the best "Bosh to Cleveland" ideas I've seen. That being said, I don't know how much interest Sacramento will have in JJ Hickson. Also I question whether NO would want to dump Okafor's salary. I think they would want something talent/pick wise in order to move Okafor.

I feel like Sacramento would say no. They just traded for a big in Hilton Armstrong and have Thompson and Hawes who should both play PF. They also have their energy guy in Brockman off the bench. They need a true center, not another project PF. I'm sure they wouldn't reject Hickson by any means but they don't need him. Calderon is the type of point guard they need but I don't see them trading an elite scorer like Martin for Calderon's albatross of a contract. I think the other 3 teams say yes depending on if the Hornets are out of it at the deadline.

Sacramento gets robbed. Jose Calderon blows. Beno Udrih is better at this point. At least he can move laterally.

Not even close for Sacramento. They have Jason Thompson, Hickson has no place there.

Spot on. Like I said in another Sactown thread, they might have been interested in Hickson if he was a good interior defender because they are sorely lacking that. But he's not. So yeah, they don't want him.

It's blatantly obvious that a trade isn't fair for at least 1 team involved when you get Chris Bosh for an expiring contract and prospect.

I understand our first round picks are going to be late if we were to make this trade and be able to lock up LeBron and Bosh, but would throwing our 2010 and 2012 first round picks to Sac help? They did find Casspi with the 23rd pick this year.

Sure... now all you need is to actually tell the GMs to do this ...

Seriously, it makes sense, but the Kings are notorious for being hard sellers. They still think that Kevin Martin is their franchise, so they will need to wake up with reality.

Also, Z being traded to the Hornets may work, but you don't know if they'll actually try doing something like that. They are a questionable team. Toronto may have some incentive, but it's not clear how they would view Okafor as a piece.

Aside from those little snags, good trade !

*Now switching back to reality*
