After gobbling up a ton of articles and videos, I think I will go light on one-dimensional players like Toppin and Okoro, and to some extent, Edwards. Also, we may already have Edwards on the roster with the name KPJ.
Ball, Avdija, and Vassell seem like the top three choices, in that order. They all have their own shortcomings, though. Also, Ball will certainly be gone by 5. Avdija has a low probability of being available at 5.
This might be a decent approach:
1. Sign TT for at least a two-year deal. TT may also get interest from other teams (LAC, GS, …?), so it's not a done deal yet.
2a. If TT doesn't come back, then draft either of Okongwu or Wiseman, whoever is available
2b. If TT comes back, draft Deni or Vassell (in that order)
2c. If Deni is unavailable, and #5 pick seems too high to spend on Vassell, Cavs might draft Hayes/Haliburton
3. I see the probability of trading the pick, and other assets, if we can land a big name (Westbrook, Simmons, …... just dreamin'). Though there might be trade options to acquire solid players (Barnes, Jrue, ….) without giving up the pick. But, in any of these cases, Drummond will be moved. Would Garland + Exum + #5 = Rubio be possible (Rubio, KPJ, Windler, Love, Drummond to start, and Sexton, Cedi, Nance, TT et al to back them up)?
That seems like a massive overpay for Rubio. After gobbling up a ton of articles and videos, I think I will go light on one-dimensional players like Toppin and Okoro, and to some extent, Edwards. Also, we may already have Edwards on the roster with the name KPJ.

Thoughts on trading down with NY for picks #8, #27, drafting Achiuwa 8th & Azubuike 27th?

Bringing in Rubio will be an instant boost for the Cavs' offence, and will unlock the potential for the Love-Drummond-Windler front court. Rubio is a great distributor, and has played with Love before.
The Suns are not looking to trade Rubio. At least, they do not have a good reason to do that. So, our price will have to be high.

Maybe we could trade them Love, Drummond, and Windler for Rubio.
Altman won't. But I am sure you would
Rubio's a nice player and would be a great fit in a backcourt with Sexton. Problem is what we'd have to give up for him...
