When we were watching the Warriors trounce Dallas, I said this would be historic if the Warriors win. So my buddy Mike says there was a #8 seed that beat a #1 in the past, but he doesn't know when it was.

I'm thinking it's the Supersonics back in the 90s. Do you guys know the answer? Who did they beat and what year was it?

Denver over Seattle..Year, not so sure...All I remember was Cookie Monst...er Dikeme Mutombo holding the ball at the end of the series sprawled on the ground.

Nuggets vs. Seattle I believe in 93/94. I also think the Knicks were an 8th seed in the strike year and they went to the ECF's. Can't remember who they played.

Yep Knicks beat the Heat I believe in the first round..Then lost to the Spurs in the Finals.

Oh my god, those were the most defensive games ever, it would be halftime and the score was like 25-30.

Yep. They were painful to watch. Usually I didn't...

I just looked it up, the Heat lost in the 1st round to the Knicks in 99. Heat were 33-17, Knicks 27-23. They went all the way to the Finals before losing to the Spurs in 5 games.
