A Closer Look at Jabari Parker

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Well, at least I didn't feel I was watching Harrison Barnes like in those Wiggins clips.

He's my pick if Joel's back is a problem.

Kyrie-Dion-Jabari would be near impossible to stop offensively, but it would also be near impossible to stop anything defensively. I was not completely in-tune with how awful Jabari is defensively. This makes him look like one of the worst defensive players to ever play the game. At least 80% of this board could probably defend better than him.

Watch at 9:30 and you will be amazed.

Parker brings the offense and with a more offensive coach, sure to come from Griffin's hire, I don't know if we need more offense with Parker. Love him as a player but its tough to see Parker fit with Waiters and Bennett. Of course we aren't married to those players but it just seems tougher.

Wiggins and Embiid fit like gloves to more of our current roster.

I think we end up taking one of them.

The question becomes which position becomes easier to fill outside of the draft. And that is SF.

Franchise centers are harder to find. And if healthy and the prognosis is good, you can't pass on Embiid.

If he is screwed up, then Wiggins isn't a bad prize.

It's gonna be a wild month. When they won the lotto, I started shouting, "Andrew Wiggins!" Today I'm falling in love with Parkers frame and skill set. He looks like exactly what Kyrie needs paired with him on offense right now. I adored watching Embiid in December but the wear and tear that took place on him in such a little time is concerning. Don't worry, I'll bounce between the three many times before the draft.

I honestly don't think the Cavs can make a 'bad pick' by getting any of them, barring injuries of course.

I think Parker has a bit more upside than people think he has.
Wiggins may have more upside but will he ever reach it?
Does he have the desire to be the best?
He didn't bring it every game.
I saw [Parker against him and many other games although I hate Duke.
Parker is a baller.

People keep pointing to his D and saying how bad it looks. It looks that bad because he is not even trying. He doesn't care. When he gets to the NBA and small forwards start dunking on him, he will care. He has to much pride in his game not to improve. It isn't his athleticism that keeps him from being a good defender it is just effort. I want him if Embiid doesn't check out because he looks like the #1 that Kyrie is not.

We could absolutely use another dominant scoring player. Neither Dion and especially Bennett have proven to be #2 or #1 options and I'm not going to skip on potentially getting one because of them. Maybe Dion breaks out like we hope but Bennett shouldn't factor much into these decisions imo.

I wish Parker's shooting percentage was a bit higher. I find it hard to claim he will win a scoring title when he isn't that much better of a scorer than Wiggins at this point in time

Parker was at 25 points per 40, which is elite territory, especially for a frosh and better than Carmelo's rookie year with higher percentages. Wiggins was at 20 per 40, that is a pretty significant difference. Not that Wiggins is chopped liver, but Parker is the best scorer in the draft and absolutely could be the next great NBA scorer.

I like Parker and Wiggins, just think that Jabari is the more complete player. The kid is a natural scorer and aggressive on the glass, if we can teach him to play some better defense he could be a franchise type player.

Parker will probably be the ROY. Maybe not here if we take him, but I think he is most ready to come in and put some stats up on the board.

Wiggins and Embiid need more seasoning. But have more upside.

But Parker's upside is still very high.

Nobody's going to dunk on him because he can't stay with his man all the way to the basket.

I think I'm in the minority but unless you know Lebron is coming back this is my pick. If lebron is coming back that complicates things and parker would be the last of the 3 I would take.

Lets all be honest here though, this is like complaining that you banged Jessica Biel instead of Mila Kunis, whatever the outcome we can sleep well.

I've heard a lot of talk that Wiggins has more potential than Parker. I was hoping that someone could explain this to me?
Parker needs work on his defense, most 19 year old rookies do
His offensive game is ahead of Wiggins
He attacks the glass better than Wiggins
He is already 240lbs
He seems to have a better feel for the game and a higher bball IQ
I'll be happy with either of them, just wondering why it is assumed that Wiggins ceiling is so much higher because I don't see it.
