A new chapter of dominance about to begin

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
After Roy and Steve your thin at WR as well as after LT at RB... AD and Lewis would be better #3 backs.. If you get that 3rd WR and 2nd RB you'd be set :) You got a pretty good, deep team though... Looks solid...
Who has better RBs than me? If I'm truly thin at RB, you ought to be able to find one team who's clearly better than me at that position. I don't see one. Arguably better, maybe. Clearly better? No chance.

My starting WRs may be the best in the league. If depth at WR is my biggest problem, then I'm not worried. WR depth is the least concerning problem you could possibly have in fantasy football. There are 5 WRs I could pull right now out of free agency that would be serviceable starters.

So who's winning this thing anyhow?

So who's winning this thing anyhow?

I'm 2-0 and leading the league in total points. _amon is 0-2 and last in the league in total points. I'm not joking. :chuckles:

I'm also leading in bench points. I've got nearly twice as many bench points as the second place guy in this category. Bench points don't mean anything as far as wins and losses, but it does show the depth I have. Injuries and bye weeks won't have near the effect on me as they will other teams.

So I'm looking at my starting lineup for the week, and all my starters are top 10 at their position except for 1 of my kickers. Keep in mind that we start 2 at every position. So I have 2 top 10 players at every position, except for the least significant position. The one guy not performing is Kaeding at #29. Keep in mind that he was as high as #1 at his position on all of the preseason fantasy boards, and no lower than 5. He'll bounce back and be solid.

Just thought I'd check in with an update. I'm 4-1, tops in my division and tops in the league in power rankings. In other words, status quo.

_amon, on the other hand. I hate to beat on a guy when he's down, but he's reaching new "heights" of futility, that simply must be recognized:

* 0-5? Check. That's right, he's the only team in the league with out a win.
* Last in points? Check. And just saying last in points does not properly convey how bad he's failing. Through 5 games, he has 326 total points. To put that in perspective, I have 752, and the team that is second to last in points has 570. That's right, I have more than double his points (2.3 X as much, to be exact), and the second to last team has 244 more! And we're just 5 games in. Look at the points per game:

Me: 150
_amon: 65
2nd to last: 114

The team in 2nd to last is getting almost 50 more a game! Unreal.

OMG! I was just looking at the power rankings in my league, which are based off of your record if you were playing every team every week. For example, I'm #1 in the power rankings, with a record of 31-13-1 had I played every team each week. _amon is of course last, no surprise there, but I just noticed his record is 0-45-0!!! Wow, he would not have beat a single team to date! Every week he's had the lowest score. You almost have to try to pull that off.

Almost...I may finally beat someone this week, which really sucks for him, especially since I'm still not going to break 100 points.

Yeah, congratulations getting off the snide. Any win is a good win.

And now, for the match up you've all been waiting for, Style vs _Amon in Week 7!!!

It would be poetic justice if I dropped this one. :)

There's more likely a chance of the biggest margin of victory ever than that happening.

Funny, _amon's hammering me right now. He's up 51, with Heath Miller yet to play for him and Roethlisberger and Pit's Defense yet to play for me. My guys average 39.9 and Heath is averaging 8.2, so if they play to their averages I'm going to lose by 20. I need my guys to step up, with out Big Ben targeting Miller.

This is embarrassing:

I would blame it on the bye week, as I had several key players out, but I lost by 40! I did the math, and if my players on bye had played and scored their average scores, I would have still lost by 3 points. Too many of my players who actually played this weekend dropped the ball, scoring well under their average.

Hats off to you, _amon. Congrats.

Karma police: I start publicly railing on _amon, and since then he's on a 2 game win streak.

That's why I don't talk trash...the one time I did in the last 3 years, my opponent scored 150 pts to my 70...and my bench scored over 200 pts.

So _amon, still happy about your decision to draft Maroney with the 3rd pick in the draft, while I took AP at the #4? :chuckles:

I can't believe that as a rookie he put up 296. I mean wow.

Who should really feel bad is the guy who took Alexander off my hands. He traded me the draft pick that ended up being AP in exchange for Alexander, who he kept. He could have kept Willie Parker, who he already had, with out giving up anything, and then drafting AP at #4, giving him the #1 and #8 RBs in the league. Instead he's got Alexander and Kevin Jones, the #22 and #26. Plus Alexander is on the down side of his career and this is a dynasty league.

Speaking of trades, I moved Trent Edwards and a 2nd rounder for M Turner and a 3rd rounder. (I should mention that since we're in a dynasty league now and we keep our entire teams, the drafts will be rookie only.) An interesting move. Gives me insurance for LT short term, and hopefully a solid starter long term, when he signs elsewhere next year. The move was not with out cost, but I think it was a fairly safe move.

I also picked up Lee Evans off waivers, who's stepped up the last few weeks. In his first start for me today, he put up 26.5 fantasy points. :)

So here's my roster (again, remember it's a dynasty league, hence me having players like Aaron Rogers):

Nay Sayers
Pos Player, Team
QB Donovan McNabb, PHI
QB Jay Cutler, DEN
QB Ben Roethlisberger, PIT
QB Matt Schaub, HOU
QB John Beck(r), MIA
QB Aaron Rodgers, GB
RB LaDainian Tomlinson, SD
RB Adrian Peterson(r), MIN
RB Jamal Lewis, CLE
RB Julius Jones, DAL
RB Michael Turner, SD
RB Ryan Grant, GB
WR Steve Smith, CAR
WR Roy Williams, DET
WR Lee Evans, BUF
TE Kellen Winslow, CLE
TE Greg Olsen(r), CHI
TE Jeff King, CAR
PK Nate Kaeding, SD
PK Rob Bironas, TEN
Def Ravens, Team Defense, BAL
Def Steelers, Team Defense, PIT
Def 49ers, Team Defense, SF
Def Texans, Team Defense, HOU

Oh btw, after me making fun of Amon for an 0-5 start, he's on his way to his 4th straight W. Nice turn around. The play offs are well within reach.

Well this sucks. Just got served a first round exit in the playoffs. The streak of consecutive Super Bowl appearances ends at 4. This will be the first year ever that I've lost money playing fantasy football. :(

My top 2 defenses (Pit and Bal) played the #1 and #3 scoring offenses (NE and IND). Keep in mind my that defenses are top scorers in my league, and we start 2, so this was very crippling.

Then, my best player, AP, gets me THREE FREAKIN YARDS on 13 carries. WTF?

AP and my defenses combined crappiness proved to be too much to overcome.

On the bright side, my team is young, and as this is a dynasty league, I've got them all back. I expect to be one of the tops teams in the league again next year.
