Under the NFL-NFLPA protocols, unvaccinated players are barred from a variety of activities, including gathering outside the club facility in groups of more than three and going to an indoor nightclub or bar. The standard fine is $14,650 for first-time offenders, with repeat violations subjecting players to increased discipline, including for conduct detrimental with a maximum fine of one week's salary and/or a suspension without pay for up to four weeks.

I'm really curious what the league does. Let's assume that Rodgers infact reported himself as unvaccinated and the league looked the other way for all of those mask violations.... There are going to be some serious questions by the players union wondering why all rules weren't applied equally. And maybe congress

Conversely what happens if it turns out Rodgers lied and faked a vaccination? Multiple game suspension I would assume

Story of the NFL. The rules are never applied equally to everyone.

Remember last year when the league moved heaven and earth to avoid inconveniencing the Ravens during a covid outbreak, then when other teams had similar issues they were told to pound sand?

Rodgers will get a slap on the wrist because he's one of the league's top stars and plays for one of the league's marquee teams, and they would never dare suspend him.

I hate that valid criticism towards someone being a selfish, deceitful person with a wide spreading influence due to their popularity is now always labeled as them being "cancelled" or "victims of the woke mob".

Seems like the people who use that verbiage want people to be tougher, thicker skinned, etc. but can't take an ounce of criticism without crying out those trigger words.

Don't they have a point, though? Because it seems like you're getting triggered by the mere words "cancelled" or "victims of the woke mob".

Someone crying out trigger words can easily be ignored by any who disagree with them. After all, they're just words by someone whose opinions and actions you don't respect.

What does woke mean? Following the rules in this instance? Is it woke to go when the light is green?

What does cancelled mean? Does it mean you aren't allowed to exist in society or that you shouldn't be allowed to put others in danger by lying? How has he been cancelled? He broke the rules of his company and people are criticizing him. Is that woke?

It's not weird to bristle at lying. You could have just as easily said, "Wow but aren't you part of the mob too? You seem to think lying is bad."

I find it fascinating you can see the selfishness of a player like KPJ and its detriment to the team, but seem to see no issue with the leader of a team lying to fans, the organization that trusts him to lead, and his teammates. Hanging them out to dry in a game where missing a single one can be disastrous to the team. This isn't a teenager either, this is a longtime vet and leader.

This guy did his own research and the conclusion it brought to him as a mature critical thinking adult was to lie to everyone that was depending on him. Seems immature and cowardly at the very best. This guy is a liar and when he gets caught in the lie he blames a woke mob. It would be comical if it was toddler. Somehow it is a commentary on societal decline when a grown man lies, gets caught and then blames others. His entitlement is through the roof.

Exactly who did he lie to? From what I've read, the NFL knew, his team knew, and his teammates apparently knew. So the only people he lied to were the media and fans, and ....what possible difference does that make? If you listen to his point, he objected to the entire idea of his health status being public in the first place. He doesn't/didn't concede that either the media or fans had a right to know either way, so he gave a sketchy answer to a question he believes he had no responsibility to address publicly in the first place.

But that's not even the point I was making. If you want to be outraged about him lying to "us" -- although why it is our business I have no idea -- go ahead. Be outraged. If he wants to condemn whatever he meant when he referred to "cancel culture" and "woke mobs"...so what? How does his opinion on "cancel culture" or "woke mobs" affect any of you guys in the slightest? That's the part I don't get. He's name-calling his critics...so why is that a big deal or a reason for those critics to get so fired up at being called a name?

What's basically happening is this:

1) Rodgers says "it's none of your fucking business anyway"
2) People outside the NFL saying "yes it is --you owe it to us to tell us your vaccinated status, and should be punished if you don't"
3) Rodgers asks the "woke mobs" (whatever he means by that) and "cancel culture" to get off his back
4) You guys get outraged because he used those terms.

I just don't get it. I suppose I can understand being mad at him because he didn't tell fans/media the truth about his vaccination status, but what damn difference does it make what terms he uses to describe his critics? Why is the name-calling itself an issue to get upset about?

Not outraged. We see a liar trying to shift the blame onto a boogie man for letting his team down. Is this the first time an athlete has been asked what he deems intrusive questions? Is this the first time he has had criticism of his behavior?

I think it is hard to say he wasn't lying when he wasn't following unvaccinated protocols, but you can lie too and claim I am outraged all you want.

I think it matters because there is a point here that he thinks he can lie and get off with no criticism because some people might be mean to him or be mad at him. Baby behavior.

Again, I think this all comes down to exactly who he lied to. FWIW, I absolutely agree with Rodgers that the public/media have zero right to know his vaccination status. Even the NFL itself agrees with that, which is why they don't publish that information.

So I can see his point. He's pissed at people who have no business knowing his personal medical information blasting him for not being honest to them about the personal medical information they had no right to know in the first place.

Threads have been locked for turning "political" that did far less than what's going on in here.

Lmao, Rodgers was unmasked on the sidelines and doing unmasked press conferences in front of the media. Of course he owes the people that he probably could have infected... Do we have proof the NFL knew and are only slapping him on the wrist now because people found out he lied? Or is everyone just assuming that?
