I have an idea that may be impossible to get to work on the vBulletin forums.
How about an alert program for alerting members about new threads via email. I'm not talking about threads members are subscribed to, but rather new threads that fit a specific key word or topic (or narrowed down options), or a new post via a specific member (only new threads posted by thewuck, Ben, Wine and Gold, etc.)?
So, if thewuck posts a new topic about a new Cavs article by Brian Windhorst or Ben/Glen/etc. posts a service announcement or an update regarding a specific topic related to basketball, the site, etc... those narrowed down options will be programmed to send an email to posters that haven't checked.
That way, nobody has to keep checking every 12 hours to see if something new was posted, maybe a deal was made?
Again, I don't know the software that vBulletin uses and I doubt that somebody can get that to work (if anybody can, I would bet on Ben and Glen), but if it's possible, it sounds like something that people can use and not get too obsessed regarding new topics around the world.
Well, hope somebody can give me an answer, thanks.
