Breaking: Ferry Trades Gibson for Sack of Potatoes

As the trade deadline approaches, teams are getting desperate to clear cap room in these tough economic times.

One GM is taking it further. "Look at the guy, my dog has a better 3 point shot and he's been dead for years!" Cavaliers' General Manager Danny Ferry said. "Realistically, it saves us money...plus, I'm pretty sure the sack of potatoes doesn't turn the ball over every single time".

While the Cavs are rumored to be interested in big names such as Amare Stoudemire, Marcus Camby, and Antawn Jamison, perhaps all they really needed was a thick sack of potatoes to plug up the lane.

"I've seen him play" Ben Wallace adds, "Sack's a solid defender and takes charges well. It'll be a shamockery if we don't win a title this year"

Just as I read that shitty post about Gibs.. He splashes a three.

You lose.

Good day, sir.

Re: Amare Stoudemire - Can it still happen?

2PM tomorrow, Ferry needs to be on the phone with Kerr. Send $Sarver a tape of JJ tonight. Wally, JJ, Gibson/AV, 1st. Do it.

Amare so far with 29 in first half. :chuckles:

Re: Amare Stoudemire - Can it still happen?

Amar'e seems to be firing on all cylinders with Gentry as coach. I am still not completely convinced. I'm almost positive (99%) that Amar'e is going no-where. That last 1% lies with Ferry being such a poker-faced savvy GM who hides _everything_.

These games with the Clippers really can be a double-edged sword. Sure they will whup on the Clips. And on face-value they look like a much improved team falling back on the old D'Antoni methodology. But at the same time they are giving up big points defensively (relative). I just don't see this working long term against defensive-minded teams like the Spurs, the Cavs, the Celts, etc. In fact, I think the Spurs eliminated the "Run n' Gun" style in the past.

I also just can't see $arver eating this huge amount of debt relative to where the Suns are in the standings. Maybe if they were 3rd or 4th in the Western Conference...
