Andy Varejao Returns

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I would pay $150 to have Mark Price check into a game , hit a game winning 3 pointer and walk off the court................. :celb (2):

Would you pay the $150 still knowing that the money would most likely go to some Christian charity? lol

One of my faves all time. I was firmly in the "Andy is clearly better than Love" group before he tore his hammy

Why try out a young wing when you can play a 38 year old who hasn’t seen an NBA court since 2017
Could have used that young wing just about how

Ring chaser !!

He looked so much better with his hair tied back in the wedding pic

One of those two road preseason games was in Dayton. I saw Andy live up close and was stunned. Called my friends and told them this guy was special. What a great player for Cleveland and just unfortunate that he was traded before the title was won. Glad he’s back with the team.

The last Cavalier big man who knew how to set a pick and knew how to defend the PnR
I was explaining this to some younger fans (were toddlers during LeBron rookie year and young kids before the Decision).
I'm glad to see Andy with the org again. He was kind of TT before TT, an instant favorite when the Cavs got him (good trade with Orlando that also brought Drew Gooden).

Was interesting to hear his answer during the telecast when asked more specifically about his role. His answer was a bit sloppy and unprepared, as if he is unsure. Talked along the lines of being an ambassador, etc. I get the sense it might be "we are an Organization that takes care of our own" when retirement comes along, which is completely fine. Sends a great message to free agents who might consider Cleveland, and of course demonstrates to current players (ahem, Mr Mitchell) that committing to Cleveland will bring future benefits. Wouldn't be surprised if he lives out his days in Brazil with his family, occasionally coming up to Cleveland for spurts every year.

There was even talk of him helping out in practice, which he answered very thoughtfully in that he does not intend to take away from the expertise our coaches provide. I'm sure he'll bang down low at times to help get guys reps, offering insight.

The ceremony came across to me as a number retirement - was half expecting to see a jersey hoisted up.

Kudos to John too - did a great job on the mic introducing Andy.
