I have an 8 team keeper league that I'm looking to push to 10, possibly. This league meets once a year in Cleveland and does a player auction. Here are the league rules:
League Rules:

AUCTION: Each season the WGS League will hold an auction. Each team will have $20.00 to spend on 14 players. Minimum bid on any player is $0.10 and can be raised only in $0.10 increments. The salary cap only applies on Auction day.

Auction day shall be considered sacred and should not be missed for anything. Pizza and Beer shall be enjoyed during the auction, possibly wings. If wings are ordered, it shall be expected that at least one order shall be Buffalo Style Hot.

Teams must fill all 14 spots with a maximum of 3 players at any one position, and a minimum of 2 players at every position.

CONTRACTS: The winning bid for a player represents that player’s “contract.” The terms of the contract is 2 seasons plus a team option. Teams can sign players under contract after season 2 to up to four (4) more seasons. Each season counts as a $0.50 rise in salary.

(example) Team A won Tyreke Evans for $0.10 on auction day two (2) seasons ago. Team A can now sign Evans for four (4) seasons with Evans’ contract going to $2.10, or three (3) seasons at $1.60, or for two (2) seasons for $1.10 or can allow Evans to simply play out his option year for $0.10.

All free agents signed during the season count as $1.00 in their first year of their contract.

TRADES: Teams may trade players freely through out the league so long as they maintain the 3 player maximum/2 player minimum at each position roster rules.

SCORING: WGS is a Roto-style scoring league with weekly transactions. We use Points, Rebounds, Assists, Field Goal Percentage, Free Throw Percentage, Blocks, Steals, Three Point Field Goals Made. Winning a category is equal to 8 points (this depends on the number of teams, if there are 8 teams then 8 points are available). So 64 total points available if a team wins every category.

FEES:

League Entry Fee: $17
Add Fee: $1.00
Drop Fee: $3.00
Activate Fee: $.10
Reserve Fee: $.10
Move from Injured Fee: $.10
Move to Injured Fee: $.10
Trade Per-Player Fee: $.10
Trade Flat Fee: $1.00

We are coming into our 2nd season this year. If I can get a few expansion teams we will most likely do a 2 round expansion draft where each team must draft 2 new players based on who the owners throw into the pool.

Let me know.

wow, I'm surprised no bites on this.. I'd have thought with all the arm-chair GM's at least a few people might be interested in a long term league vs the short terms snake draft leagues.

Its probably because no one wants nickel and dimed all season.

Its probably because no one wants nickel and dimed all season.

Not really nickel and dimed, it accrues over the season to make the "pot". So at the beginning of the next season top 4 are paid out minus expenses and everyone else pays expenses. I've been in a similar style baseball league for going on 14 seasons now. The fees in that one are much steeper, but the league's longevity is a testament to the structure, I think.

This league currently has 9 people, could go to 10. We are having a live auction on Saturday October 23rd at my place in Ohio City. IM me if you have any interest.
