Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Got some delusional people in this thread. Melo ain't coming here unless we trade Love for him, which would be stupid. So we're back to square 1. No Melo. No Butler. No PG as of now.....where are the improvements going to come from?

Is the Love for Crowder/Bradley/pick still a thing?

the Cavs are nor trading Love for Melo not should they

Except there is now a chance of a reconciliation between NY and Melo, where there was none with Phil.
He wants to stay in NY, the odds of that just increased. This really sucks, because with Phil there was no chance he was staying in NY.

Until Phil got fired, Melo was looking like the good guy who was getting forced out by him. Melo's preference order is probably Cavs, New York, Clippers, anywhere else. If Melo is more open about his desire to play for the Cavs, he'll seem like the bad guy and get booed by fans like Paul George is now. If George got booed for wanting to play for his hometown team, imagine how much more Melo would get booed in a major media market wanting to leave NY for a stacked team?

Got your nor and not confused there brotha, but yes I agree. We need a way to get Melo without trading Love. Only trade with the Knicks worth having. But right now, doesn't seem like it's going to happen.

Only chance we have now of making a move is if LBJ is talking to PG and/or Melo and telling them to come to Cleveland.

I could still see a trade happening. I think Dolan didn't want to eat the bulk of Melo's salary for this year and his option year. No way Melo was taking a buyout without the majority of that money.

I don't think the Knicks will want to risk Melo getting injured and him picking up his option. Unless some dramatic shift in their roster happens, they aren't going to be a good anytime soon. I think they would rather get a deal done sooner than later. A package of Shump, Frye, and RJ work salary wise. Shump and Frye are assets that can be moved to help their future.

Im hoping they would be open to something like this. Frye is an expiring too I believe that would be off their books next offseason.

Shump has an option but with how much wing players are making, I doubt he would pick it up.

It's also in Melo's best interest to get traded. It's might be the clearest path for him to still make big money in the future. His bird rights make it easier for the Cavs to pay him in the future. He can leverage his player option into more money if he plays well. Right now on the Knicks his player option is a injury insurance or last ditch option to get paid 25+ million.

The Cavs take on the risk of his player option but gain the ability to resign him if everything works out. It doesn't become a one year rental with the inability to pay him much more in the future. We won't have to worry about convincing Melo to take a discount to stay.

Nope. Beverley, Dekker, and Lou Williams +2018 1st to LAC per Woj

I wonder if the clippers will move Beverley. Would Frye+Cedi be enough? I figure the clippers will have to decide on what they are going to do depending on if Blake Griffin resigns or not. Blake leaves they will have to blow it up.

Funny I feel bad for DeAndre Jordan CP3 and BG hold him hostage then they dip and leave him with Lou Williams and Jamal Crawford
