So I've been going through the topics talking about free agency, trading individual players and all of that...but! I haven't seen a compilation thread, so. All things considered, realistically, plan a strategy and tell me your best case (remember realistic) cavs team next year, and explain the trades and free agency pickups.

GO!

Starters
Irving
Beal
Geee
Thompson
Andy V

BENCH
Jenkins
Halloway
Casspi
Samuels
Eyanga
Erden
Gibson
William Bufrod

I don’t know if this is the best, but I wouldn’t complain.

Cavs finish with the 5th(?) worst record and land the #1 pick. NOH finishes with the worst record.

#1 pick: draft Drummond
#31 (NOH) pick: draft best Euro player to stash overseas
#35 pick: draft wing

2012/2013 roster:
Kyrie/Boobie
Parker/2nd rounder
Casspi/Gee
TT/Samardo
Drummond/Erden

Trade Sessions for a future (late) first
Trade Jamison for a new stationary bike and new bong for Kyrie:chuckles:
Trade Andy mid-season/off-season for a 1st and a young player

Finish the 2012-2013 season with the 5th-10th worst record, ready to take the best wing available and go into the 2013-2014 season with playoff intentions. If things are going better than expected, make a run at good player to make us title contenders. If not, make the playoffs, gain experience and wait for the right player to become available to make a move.

I know a player who will be Free Agent eligible in the 2013-2014 season. Lol.

first two responses didnt say how! but i like the mayo, yall wanna keep casspi? i hate that guy

Irving/Bledsoe
Lamb/Gibson
Gee/Lamb
TT/AV
Hibbert/AV

Awesome team right there and kind of realistic. Sign Hibbert outright to max and hope Indiana doesn't match. Get Lamb (or Beal) in the draft in the 7-9 range. Three starters are 20 years old, and two are only 25. The frontcourt rotation has four players who can play solid defense. The starting backcourt has good size and Gibson can play defense off the bench. Bledsoe was just a throw-in spurred by Holinger's idea but really that can be anyone (a vet would be good actually....maybe Jason Kidd? heh...). Three starters are at least decent 3pt shooters, and Hibbert is a pretty good complement to TT and AV.

:king:

Andy is traded for a lottery pick, is traded for a 1st rounder or bought out, Sessions is traded for both Lakers' picks after he gets bid over, and we trade up with Andy's pick and another 1st rounder to grab someone like Lamb, Beal, MKG, or Barnes. Of course, our own pick wins the lottery and draft Drummond. If we just buy out Jamison, we will have tons of cap space to sign a free agent. In which case, we sign Eric Gordon. I'm not sure what we would trade Jamison for, so let's just go with the buy-out route where we end up signing Eric Gordon.

Team:

Kyrie Irving
Eric Gordon
MKG
TT
Drummond

Now that's best-case scenario.

Center - Howard / AV / Erden
PF - TT / AV / Samuels
SF - MGK / Casspi
SG - Beal / Gee
PG - Kyrie / Boobie

Why not?

Starting at this years deadline:

We send Indy our 2 2nds next season (Even the Kings pick if we have to), and receive Indy's 1st. Jamison gives them a vet, scoring, and an expiring. Exactly what Indy could use. We get a decent back up pg for the year.

Sessions for TPE and one of the 2012 Lakers picks

Draft
#9+#20 for the draft rights to Harrison Barnes.
#23 for Fab Melo

#31 Alex Young Sg/Sf out of IUPUI
#40 Robert Sacre C out of Gonzaga (just a body to bang)

Sign OJ Mayo (Mem wont match)
Sign Dajaun Wagner (Article gives me hope :D)
Sign rookies.

Let Erden, Harangody,Parker (Coaching Role) all walk.
If theres trade value for a 2013 pick, trade Casspi and resign Gee.

PG-Kyrie/Wagner
SG-Mayo/Gibson/Thompson(Practice Body)/Eyenga(Needs to show improvement)
SF-Barnes/Casspi(has some trade value; or resign Gee)/Young
PF-Andy/TT(Starts midway through season)/Samuels
C-Melo/Sacre/

Its somewhat realistic.
