Brandon Weeden: GTFO!!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Kellen Moore and Matt Cassell.... looks like Weeden will be starting the whole stretch.

Weeden taking a moment to pat himself on the back with his new field smarts

“Maybe three or four years ago we’re down a couple of scores and I may try and force the ball in there and bad things happen,” Weeden said. “That dump down to Lance, that was the play. It didn’t look good and probably won’t remember it, but it was a smart football play and you move on to the next one.”

Jerry Jones: “This quarterback Weeden can drive the ball down field,” Jones said. “He’s a thing of beauty on throwing a football. His passing motion and his arm, frankly, you won’t see a more gifted passer, power, accuracy, the entire aspect of it. If he can basically prepare, be the starting quarterback, come in and execute and keep his head right, then I feel good about Weeden.”

I had to add in a geeky imagine of Weeden, since it never gets old.

Why hasn't Jerry Jones been suspended by the NFL for substance abuse yet?

That reminds me of the ESPN Sports Science piece on Weeden that made him look like a great pick until he started playing. I feel bad for him (I feel bad for any Browns QB) and hope he pans out to be better.

Re: The Brandon Weeden Thread

He's definitely not a goober. He's a smart and composed guy and he's not going to get scared out there. There's something to be said for having age and wisdom.

I actually think he's going to end up being a good player, the best the Browns have had since they got back. On one hand...that's nice. On the second hand...that ain't saying much.

Thing is...Heckert has yet to disappoint in a draft. You have no choice but to ride with the guy. And if he picked Weeden, chances are...Weeden is going to be a good starter within two years. Thing is...he NEEDS to be damn good and he needs to be starting fast.

I'm optimistic about the quality he can bring to the position. I'm just disappointed that no matter how good he is, he'll only be that good for a few years. Some QB's can most definitely play until they're 36-37 years old nowadays. But...a lot can't.

To be fair, he overdosed on herbal viagra at the time of making that post.

We are going to find him passed out in a Nevada Denny's... at 5pm after the Early Bird special ends. He'll have half a bottle of prune juice next to him with model train tracks covering his arms.

Too soon for Odom jokes?

When I made that joke, I didn't realize he was seriously on death's door with this. I read about it briefly yesterday, didn't know the full details of how bad he was.

Obviously I don't think it's funny that he might not wake up for this.
