Breaking Bad Season 5

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The "not checking the trunk" complaint, and no offense at all to anybody saying that, but it's just...ridiculous to me. Like, this is a show with so many small logic leaps like this (just like EVERY piece of fiction, ever), and we're nitpicking just this one? Is it because it's the finale? I mean, it isn't even a logic leap, come to think of it. It's that hard for someone to believe they didn't open Walt's trunk to make sure he didn't have a fucking machine gun attached to a remote swivel?

Lydia and the ricin? THAT is one thing I liked, but definitely think could have been way tidier if they sat and planned it out a little better. Certainly, Jesse's "epiphany" about the ricin a few episodes ago was one of my big complaints, remember? It just did not feel tidy at all, although that one may have been a little harder to clean up and find another way for Jesse to figure out Walt poisoned Brock. But...not checking the trunk? Just can't get onboard. No disrespect to anyone who it's bugging, but I just think it's petty.

My main contention was Walt was never this clean, this perfect. A friend pointed this out: once Walt embraced who he really was, to himself & Skylar, that's when things started to go his way without any fuck ups. That is something I can buy and makes me feel a bit better about the ending.

Haha. I think that is pretty valid.

My only complaint with the episode was Walt talking about doing it for himself and saying he was "good at it". What? Hundreds of people died directly and indirectly and his own life was destroyed. He lost his money repeatedly, and got his bro in law killed. He was much better at killing people to clean up the messes he made than being a successful drug dealer. Should have been a hit man instead.

Well the Nazi's patted down like he was a threat and the one with the sweet stache peeked in his back seat while talking to Walt through the window..

Also

Lydia met Todd at a different table than we were used to seeing. She has ALWAYS sat by the window. This table was not a window table. So psh to your theory about the same table.

Yo

Re watching right now. They are 100% sitting at that same table, right by the window.

Edit: just to add, you probably thought it looked different because they never had to frame in a third person into the shot, either across the room, or on that end of the table before.

He was good at cooking meth. That's what he was. "The Chemist." The guy who cooked the meth. And it was like, totally, the best meth ever. Apparently.

Yup, and I'd say not only cooking the "best" meth ever, but also taking out a regional drug lord, cartel mercenaries, a national drug kingpin, and then building an international drug ring and eventually having people even fear you name would probably qualify as being "good at it" by drug kingpin standards.

Just finished my rewatch. Even better the second time through. I'd challenge the folks who were less than happy with it to watch it again.

I couldn't be more pleased.

Well, maybe I could, but I don't know how and I am pretty freaking happy with this one

Enjoyed this season even more than Game of Thrones, to be honest. And you guys know how big of a fan I am of that show (mainly due to my love of the source material).

Definitely plan on buying the full series at some point.

I feel that people are looking too deep into certain aspects of it, or aren't looking deep enough. For me, the entire series makes sense. There was no questions as to why Walt did what he did.

The Skyler/Walt scene was one of my favorites. Yes, he was brilliant at what he did. It was the only thing that he had control over and he exceeded all expectations. The man was a force that no one could stop. In all accounts, he died by his own hands, which is poetic.

Greatest series, hands down.
I honestly don't know how I can watch The Wire and be satisfied.

I don't know if it is just me, but I'm having trouble watching any other show now. I'm trying to catch myself up on the Walking Dead, and I love the show (or at least used to), but I don't know, it feels weird. Basically, for me, every other show can't be compared to Breaking Bad and I enjoy different shows for different things. At least that is what I'm trying to tell myself to not feel weird about it.

Got it. I remember seeing Walt at the seat opposite the window. Assumed they were in the middle of the restaurant

Anyone else just completely tired of Hardwick being the yes man for AMC? I used to like him but his constant gushing is ridiculous. These recap shows should be better

I'm actually pretty down with Nerd Ryan Seacrest. Used to not like the guy, but he grows on you.

It was exactly as VG said it would be, unapologetic. IMO it was an ENDING, nothing more nothing less.
