Browns 2016 Off Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Well, don't you think Hue must have thought he was useless, and just a lost cause?

I doubt they're just trading players without any consent from Hue. That would be unusual.

I mean, three years (one of which he played with one arm) in with no development? Pretty much a lost cause on a team that needs every roster spot to improve.

Hue apparently feels differently. I know Mingo had some health issues, but I never saw a lot of evidence he'd ever been much of a player in this league, personally.

Maybe a speciality third down pass rusher at best (which is probably what Belichick will use him as), but as a featured pass rusher, he blows. He just doesn't have it.

Didn't say I saw it on here...
Most people on the obr are happy he is gone and the same can be said for the high majority of the fan base. I think anyone that is sad to him go, never watched him play. A 5th rounder is good value for a guy who was about to be cut.

6th overall for that turd was a joke. To get a 5th for Mingo is also a joke on the Pats. You're no fucking miracle workers.

Browns: "Are you an awesome athlete?" YES "Do you hate playing football?" YES

"We'll take you!!!"

To clarify, as I wrote that while on the toilet at work- more so pissed at the org dropping the ball on development than I am that he's gone.

Night and day between Hue and the past regimes.

It definitely does suck that the 1st round picks haven't developed. That said, it was a team with Ray Horton as the DC who thought to pick Mingo. Now, I'm not sure that Lombardi and Banner had enough room in the draft-room to take anyone's opinion, but that's another story.

I just saw this about that first round. Sheldon Richardson & Star Lotulelei were the pick(s). Much credit to someone here (I think @Smooth ) who was touting Lotulelei the whole way.

The Pats will give up that 5th round and not give a fuck b/c they are notorious for drafting well. They took Sheard from us and he had a great season last year. Sometimes a change of scenery can ignite a spark in people. He is going to be the 3/4th option behind people. Work him in their system and see what happens. If not, bye bye. Remember we were all excited before training camp/preseason b/c he worked out hard this offseason and put on 20lbs of good weight.

No matter what, great trade for the Browns. If we can find another 5th rounder like Hollywood Higgins or Drango to work on, I will be happy as shit.

Mingo was decent enough at some things we didn't expect him to be good at and not nearly good enough at things the Browns and fans envisioned him to be elite at when he was drafted.

He wasn't *totally* useless, but he was never going to live up to the justifiably high expectations of a top 10 pick. The writing was on the wall when they declined his option. Getting a 5th for a guy that was likely going to be released is good by me.

Yeah people who look at the Mingo pick as an absurd bust really are forgetting just how bad that 2013 class was. I mean the Dolphins literally traded up to take Dion Jordan and to move from 12 to 3 only cost them a 2nd round pick. That's how obscenely bad the draft class was. The market to trade up was so bad because that draft had almost no top heavy talent.

They call this the dress rehearsal game.... lol

2-14

You guys actually believe in the Browns? The BROWNS???

Save it. I'd be shocked if we won 7 games. Complete shock. And obviously 2-14 probably won't happen.

New head coach, new QB, and new system. Three games into preseason isn't going to tell you very much about this team.

I think we can gather the Browns are going to be bad, but how bad is the question.

My only legit takeaway thus far is that the offensive line looks like an issue. I don't care if you have Tom Brady at quarterback paired with Jerry Rice, and Randy Moss at receiver.

If our line is going to protect that badly, then yeah, we probably are in for a long season.

But like all preseasons games. I'll wait for this shit to get real.
