The Browns have added veteran Orlando Ruff to a crowded training camp battle at linebacker.

Ruff (6-3, 253) spent the past two seasons with the New Orleans Saints, where he saw action in 30 games and made 18 starts.

Last season, Ruff recorded 70 tackles and grabbed an interception to go along with three passes defensed. In 2004, Ruff posted three 10-tackle performances and added 10 stops on special teams throughout the season.

Prior to joining the Saints, Ruff played four seasons (1999-2002) with the San Diego Chargers, where he originally made the roster as an undrafted rookie out of Furman in 1999.

In other roster moves, the Browns placed tight end Keith Heinrich on injured reserve and waived defensive tackle Doug Sims.

Hopefully with Andra, Chaun, Kenard, Miller the previously injured Ben Taylor and our draft pick McMillan can stabilize the LB core as we move to the 3-4..

i can live with that...

too bad his first name isn't peter and his last is boulware

We don't need Boulware his age is increasing productivity decreasing yet he wants around 5-6 million. The reason no one has signed him inlcuding Houston Seattle and the 4 teams who watched him workout is because he still has injuries and we know as soon as he takes some contact he is going to go straight to the injury list, do we really need anymore injury prone players? Weren't you all as disgusted as I was when we led the NFL with players on the IR with like 17? If he lowered his price I would re-consider it otherwise no thanks..I'd love to land AJ Hawk from OSU next draft however he would be the perfect 4th LB.

This guy is for depth..situational player. Horrible against the pass, solid tackler, not a pass rusher though.

great run stopper i can tell u that much...and hes just another high 70 maybe 80 rated LB in madden :) .

Madden ratings are ruining everybody's perception of talent, lol...

Even though they aren't realistic Andruzzi Baxter and Russel are all 87s or so. Shelton is an 82..dilfer like high 70s low 80s I think the one CB we got from the vikes is a high 80 in his coming 3rd year..braylon I saw was going to be an 86 I think..matt stewart is like an 83 or something..lol

yo mac didnt u hear savage is so good b/c he gets players based on their ratings in madden.lol well if a GM did that they would be pretty fu*ked up.

That kills me that people actually do look up rankings and say, man, he is good on Madden so he has to be pretty good in real life.

yea i dont say that but since on the browns site they were giving the links for ratings on ign i was just checking em out.i would never think some1 good in real life.

I wasnt referring to you, but people on the net actually do think like that...it amazes me.
