Anytime a team is beyond their own 40 and it's 4th and 1, teams should go for it (except for certain end of game situations). As far as the extra point I think it depends on situation and kicker. In the Browns case for example, go for 2 every time. Our kicking has been shit.I’m waiting for the first HC to go for 2 every time down and go for it on 4th every time (within reason).
I think it will start a revolution.

That 4th and 1 on their own 40 situation is obvious.
I’m talking about teams like the Chiefs going for it on 4th and 5 on their own 40. Or hell...an underdog doing the same.
And as for going for 2...I’m saying regardless of kicker. It’s 2 points. If you have a great offense and you feel you can get in there automatically, run the play.
You’re talking about 16 points vs 14. You’ve now turned it into a three score game if your opponent isnt willing to follow suit. I understand it could also be 14 vs 12, but it’s another example of being aggressive and taking the outcome into your own hands. Especially if you are confident in your players.
Do teams even run fake punts/field goals anymore? I'm surprised special teams hasn't evolved much over the last decade.
I feel like there would be some tactical advantage in doing the opposite of what everyone else is doing. Sounds like an opportunity to catch guys off guard or take advantage of replacement players. The best special teams is a conservative special teams. Just don’t fuck anything up.

Innovating special teams would force the league to adapt and take special teams as a more serious threat than scoring 3 or pinning the opposite team at the goal line.

The backup QB is normally the holder and I don't see why they can't have Callaway/Landry be gunners. If anything Tyrod is more than capable of throwing in short yardage situations.I think you are on to something. You need a placeholder who can throw and a kicker who can run decent routes and catch the football, then you could audible to a shotgun snap w the kicker serving as a slot WR or running back.
You’d be better than Anus on day one bro.
There's an element of surprise if your special teams can execute those plays. The fact that teams trout out replacement players on special teams could create some favorable matchups tooThing is, if you're going for it on fourth, would you rather have your QB out there or your punter? Choice seems obvious.

True, but that's why you only see fakes very rarely. If you do them all the time, the element of surprise is lost. And beyond that, if it's fourth and one I'd probably just prefer to have Mayfield, Duke, Chubb, and Landry on the field rather than our special teams unit.
The whole point is to force opposing teams to adjust to your game plan until it stops being effective
