Browns rant thread.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Trying to watch this steelers-texans game.

good god...this is horrible.

The myth of "parity" in the NFL is one that I think we can put to rest. This is akin to watching a top MAC team take on a program like Ohio State.

Also the NFL playoffs suck. We all know who's going to represent the AFC at this point. You seriously may as well just have the Yinzers and Pats play one game and then give the winner the trophy. It's pointless.

Parity was put to rest a long time ago.

Well and credit to Belichick for exploiting the NFL's obsession with QB's in this day and age.

But it really is a myth.In the NFC? it's a wee bit different, one can argue that at the beginning of the season there was about 8 or so teams you could point to me that could be playing in the Super Bowl

In the AFC? It was over before it even began

Let's say you're a Chiefs fan. Now...your team has a great running back, a solid qb in the form of Alex Smith, some great offensive weapons in Kelce, Hill.

You are not going anywhere. Period.

Even if (and man this would be nice) Flacco shits the bed against you at Arrowhead? You're either going to run into Brady or Roethlisberger in either of the next two rounds. You. Will. Lose. Period.

You beat one? the other one beats you. That's just the fact of the matter.

I don't disagree. It's a QB league. You have 0 chance if you don't have one. That's why I don't give a fuck if we go 0-16. I remember being happy about the few wins the season before the Luck draft. We started 2-1 and I was at the game that put us at 2-1. I look back and think about how stupid I was to be excited about that. I would have happily gone 0-16 to have Luck on our roster.

You can "make" the playoffs with a "meh" QB, but you won't be making it past round 1 in this conference in the modern NFL era.

I think the only teams we could argue that were successful in that manner were a.) pre QB oriented NFL, b.) had teams that were insanely talented. The Gibbs Redskins teams, The 85 Bears, and 2000 Ravens come to mind.

And do you trust the Browns to pull the above off?

It may be a QB league, but we just saw the Broncos win a Super Bowl a few years ago with Peyton Manning's corpse at QB and an absolutely elite defense picking up his slack.

Corpse or not. Bolding that.

The 2011 Broncos had a season in which the knocked off the Steelers in the wildcard...then promptly got destroyed by the Patriots.

The 2012-2014 Broncos had a few set backs but it feels like this team wouldn't have made it past that point.

I mean, Peyton Manning was awful that year. He was not the reason they won. I don't care that he's one of the best QBs ever. He certainly wasn't playing like it that season

Remember, Brock fucking Osweiler came in while he was out and didn't even look like a downgrade on that Denver team. He went to Houston the next year and couldn't walk five feet without shitting his pants.
